Weekend Review: October 1

This is a new series that I will be doing every Sunday (I know it’s already Monday, but it was intended to be posted on Sunday), reviewing most popular posts over the week. Let me know what you think of it.

1. Food for the soul, but not your body – Cyril talks about non-availability of eating places during Ramazan for those who do not observe fasting for any reason. The comments spark a discussion about rights of minorities and being insensitive.

2. Fair & Lovely featuring a hijaab clad model – Extiinct posted a picture of a billboard featuring a Hijaabi model. The crowd is split between this being a great idea and how this defies the concept of hijaab.

3. Karachi is your oyster – Cyril makes another post about how deserted the streets of Karachi look at Iftaar time. It was again mistaken by the readers as an attempt to make fun of our relgion.

4. ridiculous!!?? – Mansoor underwent another “police experience”. Everyone was amused.

5. Free Haircut! – Kiran makes a post about a salon offering free hair cuts to ladies. The comments section starts off with complains of ignoring the guys, but then anathema takes over by first reviewing the salon and then enlightens the guys with average cost associated with ladies hair styling. Very informative for guys, I must say.
