Aye mere sheher ki sham bata kia ab bhi husn damakta he
Ghar ki thandi chat ke oper taron ka jaal chamakta he
Raat gaye jab jag soye kia ab bhi koi gata he
Beete pal jo chor gaye unko jo koi bulata he
Kia ab bhi yaroon ki mehfil DHAABON pe rang jamati he
Deewanon si ik tolli kia Bikes pe sahil jaatee he
Kinare pe samandar ke kia ab hi premi milte hen
Duniya se ho ke bekhabar duur talak jo chalte hen
McDonalds ke drive thru mein phool jo becha karta tha
Har joore ko der talak jo kanankhion se takta tha
Kia ab bhi wo bacha ushi shade ke neeche betha he
“Ache din bhi aayenge mere” zerelab jo kehta he
Kia ab bhi sea view pe wo CHAMPI wale aate hen
Bootal ki awaz se jo THAK HARUN ko chonkate hen
Aur wo jo aik tha chaye farosh kia apne WATAN ko laut gaya
Pardes se tang aakar kia wo bhi Peshawar ki aur gaya
Aaye mere sheher yunhi rehna aik roz mein laut ke aaunga
Champi wale aur Chaye farosh hum bethenge ge phir der talak
Aur phool wale zara ghor se sun SURKH PHOOL mein lene aaunga
Aik GEET ADHORA chora tha wo GEET mein phir se gaunga
Karachi is an addiction and its not very easy to survive being away from Karachi once you have called this place your hometown. Ali, one of my friends studying in London wrote this beautiful nazm for Karachi. Another Ali from Flickr, not a friend of mine but still, has taken the beautiful picture that is shown above. Ali Khurshid has a huge collection of scenic sun sets of Karachi at his Flickr Profile. Of course, he is not new to KMB.
Anyways, just enjoy the beautiful nazam and the even more beautiful Karachi Sunsets.
