Where In Karachi #83

Here’s another installment of “where in karachi”, but this time.. with a twist. Where in karachi would you be most likely to see this man?

guess.jpg

Hint: He’s a legend in his own right, associated with one of our most favourite pastimes of all.

Times up: Thankyou all for participating.

congratulations to all who guessed Bundoo Khan, your guesses were right on the mark. This is no other than the famous Al-haaj Bundoo Khan himself. His usual stakeout is at the SMCHS branch, but i hear he keeps moving around the various branches, and supervises the work at these places each night.

P.S. This picture is one week old, and till then he was very much alive.

  22. Jawaid Bachani (unregistered) on December 12th, 2006 @ 7:39 pm

Sorry You are mistaken dear Mansoor because he is dead and his restaurent is looked after by his various sons and that is the reason why there are many Branches as compared to only Saddar Branch which he managed.
I hope you recheck the facts.

Bundo khan was established way back in the late 1800s.
This must be his grandchild. Btw, Bundo khan has branches all over PAK

  24. Formerly Yahya (unregistered) on December 12th, 2006 @ 11:01 pm

May be there are Bundoo Khan senior, junior or Bundoo Khan I, II, III therefore the confusion. :)

  25. Murtaza (unregistered) on December 13th, 2006 @ 9:27 am

Not just all over pakistan…one opened up in Houston! Though it may not be the original [:P]

  26. Abdul Sami (unregistered) on December 13th, 2006 @ 12:09 pm

Bundo khan was established way back in the late 1800s.

Bundoo Khan restaurant was opened in 1949.

  27. Sameeh (unregistered) on December 13th, 2006 @ 2:29 pm

The one in houston is not original. Its basically inspired by Bundoo khan. Its just a craze now to name restaurants from back home and increase sale. There is also Saabri nihaari in Dallas, Chicago and Houston.

The Original Bundo Khan of Bunder Road Karachi is located in only three places in PAKISTAN.

One at Bunder Road (Now M. A. Jinnah Road) 2nd One at SMCHS Gulistan school round about

Third ONE – Take a Wild Guess ?????

    Blue Area Islamabad.

And those who think Bundo Khan is DEAD – are wrong he is 84 years old now and very much active then many of US. try visiting SMCHS branch and ask what time people can meet, – he loves taling about his legendry name people copy and try to catch fame. – but Lastly There is no match to the famous SEEKH Kababs of Bundo Khan.

Not even Bhaiya of Model Town lahore can come close to that taste.

The picture is taken outside the Bunder Road Outlet. ! ! ! !

You’re not true Karachiite if you never ate at Bundoo Khan and had glass of juice at Agha Juice in Nazimabad no. 1.

I’m glad Bundoo Khan is doing great and I hope live a long and healthy life.

I still got saddened by the fact that some retard from Sipah-i-Sahaba had killed 70 year old Agha Abbas owner.

  30. A for [pine]apple (unregistered) on December 14th, 2006 @ 4:32 pm
