why do we ahve to have a bloody art school to learn textile designing etc etc cant we just go to a ghareloo khatoon and pay her a couple of hundred bucks to teach us ART so we can go work at some hotShot firm?
if you can feel a need for a fancyschmancy art school or fashion designing school for that matter than we feel the need for a culinary school.

Karachiwalas r not deprived ..our media had showed, and is still showing very good quality cooking programmes.Rangonwala is one old and very well known institute,then there is Pak institute for hotel management,in clifton.In fBArea,there are r two very good institutes.There is Sarah’s in north nazimabad..i can tell many more…

Rangoonwalla Community Centre used to offer daily and monthly cooking lessons by various people. Prices ranged from Rs. 100 to Rs 500 per day if I'm not mistaken. http://www.rcc.com.pk/contact.htm for directions.

If I’m concerned about the rise of crime rate against women do I go about finding every rapist and killing him?
The thing is that this forum as pointed out by someone quite recently,is to create awareness.I wish I could,these things need government’s backup because our beloved city is full of red-tapism.

I stand my ground.There is a dire need for good culinary and journalism schools.

There are many institutes offering the courses, (at very reasonable and nominal charges) and so far there are countless individuals, benefiting from them. To an extent that they learn from there and are educating others n demonstrating their skills at various TV channels as well..

I so totally agree to it. Karachi can do with a decent culinary school. and teaching classes/courses arent the same as that. These short courses just give out recipes, a school is much more; its about ‘creating’ tastes =)

If I am not wrong Memon Community Center[If I recall right name] in Karimabad area do arrange cooking classes for women and I remmeber someone who learnt different types of biryanis cooked in Pakistan.
