I think FM-107 has got some fantastic RJs and their programming is reasonable quality…

there is adeel and sukaina in the mornings with their ‘taza dum’ show.

and then there is atif hyder in their evening drive time slot shouting out on issues surrounding karachi

106.2 was the first station that caught my attention over internet thanks to a friend who got me addicted to it then. Haven’t been able to listen much these days. So not sure if the quality is still same as it used to be.

personally, i prefer listening in to FM91 rather than 96 (too bachkana) and 89 (too gora?).

apart from that, 106.2 offers a good mix to take you out of the ‘angrezi world’ :D

I am a very old time radio fan. I always used to go to roof of my house to catch lata/rafi where there was load shedding and some times I was successful then. I could hear Indian Stations in Karachi but it was very rare. I listedned to FM 100 from its early days but then they used to have so many phone calls. I switched to FM 101. I hate phone calls/DJs/ads in these stations. This morning at 625 am , local radio station in San Francisco was discussing with its ladies phone callers that what would they take to not have sex for 15 months and gals went from full wardrobe to mercedes. One gal said that if some one could pay her student loan and give her some toy to play then she could live w/o sex for 6 months and that made me laugh (I thought of Pakistanis at same instant). By the way the local stations always come up with such stupid topics here that you say four words. I am now hook to XM, it is awesome; no ads, no djs, no singnals lost and even I could listen to it non stop during my flight from SF to Chicago. XM is not free but 10-12 bucks per month for such service is nothing.

Out of all these stations mentioned, you’re not too cool if you listen to those frequencies other than the first three.

What a nonsensical conclusion.

Listening to western/funky music doesnt make you COOL.

oh!Do tune into RADIO 69 to get TURNED ON, it makes you HOT.

Sufi Zahvia no longer exists because Omar Kasmani, the presenter he has gone abroad to do his masters. But it was one of the few good shows:)
