CNG price increased?

CNG.jpg

An anomaly I have been noticing for the past couple of days. Some fuel stations are celling CNG at Rs. 33.50 per kg, and showing a notice by some “CNG Dealers Association”. I don’t remember seeing any news in the press or electronic media about this.

Mind you, not all fuel stations are selling at inflated prices. A bigger question, is who authorized the CNG Dealers Association to increase prices on a retail level? Last time I checked, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is the only body authorised to modify fuel prices.

Does that mean that soon some petrol pump owners association will increase petrol prices too?

If any of you know the official status of this, do let us know.

i would just like to recall an incident (nothing to do with the cng price hike)

a few years back while i was driving my car near submarine chawrangi my CNG kit caught fire.

passerby’s in other cars were telling me your car is on fire…

i thought they were joking as i could not c anything wrong. when i got out of my car and opened the bonnet the engine was buring like a stove.

i had the kit installed from CALTEX on korangi road. the car had come back after being serviced by them a few hour b4 the incident!

it was a lucky escape. so u all should be a little carefull and i suggest must keep a fire extinguisher in your cars!!

raise in CNG is not all over the city – seems like some fuel station owners have raised it without any consent from OGRA.

    – i agree with faheem, with CNG KIT installed we shall all keep a fire extinguisher inside the car cabin, keep an eye on temperature guage of car and less of petrol in the fuel tank. Specially in SUMMER simmering heat of 11.30 am till 3.30 PM when outside temperatures are high.

    Cheers !

I’ve read the so called ‘notice’ from CNG Dealers Association. It talks lame about ‘due to increase in the prices of Electricity and other heads’.

I think we can sure raise this issue for the benefit of the rest of the city as I too haven’t seen any news item on topic anywhere else.

inflation in our country has been sky rocketing for years. we as foreign workers have to send twice as mcuh as we were sending 4 years ago. can these army generals and their puppet government do anything to control this? Can these highly influential folks impose Agrictulre tax OR improve the qaulity of education in public schools so the vast poor majority of the country can at least get some education? although it could take decades to fix it but our very basic problems lies within ignorance and Low/No quality of education.
