never ever ever felt so ashamed of being a pakistani. serves us right as well because the writing was on the wall. in this day and age, no team can compete with an unprofessional captain like inzamam who puts yaari dosti ahead of national honour. i have never been so disappointed. i hope we never see the likes of inzamam, kamran akmal, nazir etc in pakistani colours again.

what is the point in giving bowling to Hafeez

Wohooooooo.. we did it. Ireland require another 1 run with 3 wickets and 33 balls remaining

Pakistan should stop competing in the international cricket for few years.

Congrats, that was a six to finish the game. And we are out now, from the team who is playing their first world cup.

Ireland loss a big much today, well that was not
cricket, but Rugby, which is the most poopular game there. Its great for them that their cricket team did so well.

Let bring the team back home – place them at GEO.tv or the Lahore Bar association and let the Punjab police ransack the place, then two hours later say whoops we are sorry but I think we accidentally ransacked the wrong place.

The political crisis will get worse very soon was it will give the street combatant a even more frustration to ransack the place

Welcome back home team and yes we heard the Umra visa just opened so please pray before you return to a heroic welcome.

What do you think, was that the politics that had led the team down or was that poor performance just because it was not their day.

Nothing is going right for the Pakistan these days.

    We are outta the WC

kick Inzi and Woolmer out now!

  17. ash (unregistered) on March 18th, 2007 @ 4:22 am

my friends jutiayan are not going to help -pakistan has never had any discipline what we used to have was talent , we need fresh blood, thats it ….lets handle our shame with honor.

  18. king_faisal (unregistered) on March 18th, 2007 @ 4:27 am

i agree we need fresh blood. wont happen though if we have the inzi mafia still part of the team. pak u19 team has won two world cups in a row. its time to give some of these cricketers a chance. losing is acceptable if the team at least makes an effort. whats happened recently is simply not acceptable.

  19. TEE BEE (unregistered) on March 18th, 2007 @ 4:29 am

ASH i sorta disagree with u a bit….i know we have fresh blood as well as experienced batsmen like Younus, Yousuf and Inzi…..what we lack is i guess a strategy and discipline….i cant believe that a player like Yousuf can play so pathetically….the worst part is regardless of the decision of the game….our players dont even put an effort in the game…..
Anyways salute to our OUTSTANDING team for a brilliant victory to IRISH.!!!!!!

I cant wait to see the scene at arrival gate of Jinnah Airport one our SAVIOURS return =)

The six by Irish guy is not less classical than Miandad’s sixer.

@TM: Why Team? Why not PCB? Same team had been doing well for last 2 and half years. PCB involved players in lame things for no reason. that lame PJ Mir should be kicked immediately. Bunch of Chairman’s friend screwed us at first stage. BOYZ DIDNT DO WELL.

Anyways, Ireland played well and they deserved to win the match. Congrats guys!

Last but not least[for me hehe]:

    Pakistani Team- RIP

3-We will get rid of Inzi.
4-We would save that crores of rupees which were promised to give to players.
    5-India also lost.
6-We will have now desi coach.

anyways hopefully this will help get rid of all the garbage from PCB

So dont blame inzi, he could have taken the shortcut like younas khan but he supported his team that moved from 7th to 3rd and now on 4th in ranking in past 3 yrs

anyways … freshness needs to come in this team … not necessary new players but new mangement and approach

As far as religious practise and a profession, My friend I don’t know about your religion but Islam is not the religion like others which creates trouble to perform professional/career tasks. There are many sports personalities[teams] EVEN in this worldcup who call JESUS christ and OM for their success. So comin up with a lame remark that the religion was the hurdle, i would ask you bring some facts to back your statment. Unlike team of Waqar and Wasim who didn’t win worldcup in past and even lost against Bangladesh who was infinite times more weaker than IRISH team. It was Inzy’s team who stood 3rd first time in ICC ranking. It was Inzy’s team only who declared victorious for more than two years against ENG,WI and IND. Please don’t vomit out your frustration and talk with brain to produce a healthy criticism.

It is not about who is from where it is about lack of Fighting spirit for flag they carry and the dignity country –

Each individual in the team is busy keeping someone else happy – No one is least concerned for the flag, the country and its respect,. Everyone wish to perform for bookies and personal prosperity.

The team work and team spirit does not surfaced right from begining of the tournament., as bookies promised more then what Govt have promised to the team.

Even Wasi Zafar speak better english then anyone from the Pakistan Cricket team.

God forbid if anyone were to claim that we were to blame for this loss.

I am certain there was a worldly conspiracy to root us out.

No, it was a attack on our religion.

    @ ADNAN

why it is only in Pakistan Religion is a commodity which belongs to ALL practiced by few and forced / used as tool to gain extra mile over majority.

Why cannot we gulp down and accept that Religion is an individuals belief.

Nothing I repeat nothing becomes acceptble and popular with force and pressure., not even in family let alone be in society, country.

    - Our Prophet (PBUH) for 40 years he was the Perfect of the perfectionist Individual Human on the face of planet, to whom everyone called “SADIQ” & “AMEEN”, after 40th year of suffering roughing up by the fellow arabs, Allah Gave HIM (PBUH) permission to invite people to embrace to his teaching and announce publicaly of his prophecy from The Wahda-ho La shareek.

Am not targetiing anyone, but the way Religion is used in all walks of life to HIDE from Reality is not RIGHT for the individuals as well as for country.

Namaz, Roza, Hajj, Zakat & Haqoq Ul Ebad – 4 are individuals ACT. which will go with the individual to the grave.

Duty for country, for your master for your family is all covered in Haquq Ul ebad and thats what ALLAH will Question 1st and may not forgive.

Because 1st four are purely for ALLAH, Last one relates to the HUMANITY. Humanity means INSANYAT., not momin or musalman.

MY point – Religion MUST & SHALL be filtered from all walks of life,.

In groups of organization i know of they do not allow extra time namaz break to any employee.

ZUHAR Prayers & Lunch from 1300 till 1345

I’m suggesting a much simpler remedy. Let’s ask all our brothers at the fruits and vegetables market to sell their stuff at half price for a day, all of us can buy potatoes, tomatoes and bananas by the dozens and kilos, and then when the team arrives, we can give a very personalized reception. Its going to help the economy as well you know, first with all that upsurge in the fruit and vegetable market, and their after a boom for the cleaning industry.

@Jamal; If you are willing to do politics on behalf of sports then pls clarify so that i deal with you accordingly. As I said instead of trolling, you should provide some stats that How Pre-Inzamam era Pakistani team was better but not in presence of Inzimam. As i said that it’s not sensible to vomit out your frustration and preach your agenda by bringing up irrelevent things.
If you ain’t willing to provide facts and just willing to keep giving fictitious argument then count me out.

The similar issue was raised by some Haider of Dailytimes and i emailed him back to refute his lame comments.

Lets for sake of arguments, i agree with you that there should be no extra time for PRayers.

First of all i don’t know which kinda orgs are you talking about. I work in one of the leading IT firm of Pakistan and here Lunch break INCLUDES prayer time and there is no extra time slot for prayers only. As far as other namaz timings then again it’s not a forced exercise. Many in my departments don’t offer Bajamat namaz and they either pray at their convinence or None.

Speaking of 100% efficieny as they pay for WORK only. Then in this way managment of any org should not allow employees to go in washroom because it’s wastage of time. Shouldn’t allow for lunch and tea breaks because it’s nothing but wastage of time because mgmt doesnt pay us for peeing in washrooms and eating stuff in cafeterias. Employers shouldn’t allow us to speak any word which is NOT relevent with work because we are not paid to SPEAK UP! If you agree that these things shouldn’t happen and we should wear pampers and then dispose them off when we reach home, taping our mouths and shouldn’t eat anything then I MUST AGREE WITH YOU 100%. if you don’t agree then better start a movement to stop all these things, if you can’t then better refrain in future to give such stupid remarks so that other don’t get a chance to laugh at you.

@Jamal:My comment went in Moderation Box due to its length so i try to shrink my reply to your irrelevebt rant which though doesn’t hold merit to be responded. Non-religious aka seculars also uses religion to promote their agenda .

    You talked about:

    Pakistan Religion is a commodity

In Pakistan everything is a commodity whether it’s a religion, politics or sex. if you mean tht current team used religion for fame then i would disagree with you.

few and forced / used as tool to gain

Again a fictitious statment with no evidence. If it was true then we would have a leg spinner named with Danish Khan rather Denesh Keneria. Also players are like Younis Khan,Afridi would nt be busy in modeling with Emaan Ali. It proves that everyone in team practises his religion with his own will and its their right.

MY point – Religion MUST & SHALL be filtered from all walks of life

This is contradiction of your own statments. Everyone is free to practise whatever he wants. You sound like a dictator imposig your OWN belief on others. Hypocrisy.

In groups of organization i know of they do not allow extra time namaz break to any employee

Agreed but in which organization people demand extra time for prayers? I work for one of the leading IT service provider of Pakistan and here duration of lunch hr+prayers is 1 hour and people face no difficulty to perform both tasks.

The paymaster demand 100% efficency. out of what they pay i.e money.

Agreed but lets for sake of arguments I agree that praying at offices is sign of disloaylty because we re not paid for this. Now allow me to calculate time required to offer

Zohar and Asr which comes during office timings.Zohar takes atmost 15 mins[5mins Pre Farz Sunnah+5 Mins Farz+F mins Post Farz Sunnah].Many people don’t offer post farz sunnah so total time takes 10 mins
Asar takes atmost 7-8 mins because it has only 4 farz and people usually don’t offer pre Farz Sunnah-Total Time: 8mins. So net time of prayers at Office is atmost 25mins.

Now lets see how much time people consume in other activites like going in washroom, smoking, gossips etc. Usually guys smoke more than once during office hours and since office region is NO SMOKING ZONE, guys or girls usually go out of area and smoke on stairs etc. Norm Time required to smoke a ciggy is 5 mins, multiply it by 2 or 3 makes it 15 and if you include gossips during smoking the it reaches upto 20mins/day.

Time usually people take in washroom services is not less than 5 mins/visit[includes hand washing]. Took more if they go for “No.2″ work. So if we assume that avg employyes go 3 times/day then he consumes 15 mins atleast in washroom activities. Similarly tea breaks consume 5-10 mins, lunch takes 45mins to 1 hour.

Now calculate all these and tell me whic takes most. If I follow your theory then all these things are not necessary because we are paid for work not for all these “irrelevent” activities. Employees shoudnt smoke, neither waste times in gossips,Internet etc. They should be provided pampers so that they don’t waste time in washrooms. If you agree with all these points then you should do something to ban all these things. But I know your point is just to eliminate religion from daily life because for you religion is moving body 5 times a day nothing else, it would be useless to argue you about this because you have not tasted the dish which you are talking about. I don’t think I have to say further to refute your baseless rant.

I can assure you that people like Saeed Anwer, Junaid Jamshed have no idea what Inzi, Afridi did to team under the cover of islam for vested interest of bookies and self prosperity.

“MY point – Religion MUST & SHALL be filtered from all walks of life,.
In groups of organization i know of they do not allow extra time namaz break to any employee”

What are you talking man ? Are you in your senses ? Think before you vomit.

In Canada we have been provided with a special room for prayers and a sink for wudu.
In US we go for Jummah prayers for 1 and a half hour, then we spend extra time to cover it.
Both the company are gora management and my project managers were christian, nobody have ever stopped me and you are saying that in Pak. oganization do not allow ? Seems like you are creating fitna around, I have never ever seen in Pak. also if somebody have ever stop for practising religious activities for a couple of min. providing that you spend extra time later on.

@ King_Faisal, “never ever ever felt so ashamed of being a pakistani”
Come on man, this is not the end of the world.

I dont know what happened to ppl why they are blaming Inzi, its Inzi who plays mostly, he cant play all the time, Tandulkar also doesnt play all the times but nobody blames him.

Once again I will say that Chairman Naseem Ashraf should be thrown out of the world of cricket as he has to do nothing with cricket.

I can’t believe Inzimam. Why blame fate?

Why can’t our players be professionals for once? Why can’t they just go out there in a manly way, say they screwed up, apologise and promise to work harder? Is that really more difficult than coming up with lame excuses??

I swear man, I felt like crying when I was watching the match. Ireland, for God’s sake. Taking nothing away from them, but honestly…

adnan i am impressed that you not only know the first verse , you quoted it out of your own free will too :)
“Hum ko Maloom hey Jannat ki haqeeqat lekin
Dil ko behlanay ko Ghalib ye KHyal Acha hay”

strange choice of verse – i have noticed you are actually showing a lot of liberal /sedcular ideation nowadays bukhaar to nahain ho gaiya? :)

Guys n Girls! Let’s NOT make a big deal out of it here shall we. I mean let’s face it… Pakistan was never touted to be one of the possibilities for the World Cup 2007 to start with… then why such sheer disappointment on our case? We should know where we stand and we did know that long before this World Cup kicked off. Teams like S.Africa, Australia, New Zealand etc… these are the sort of teams that ‘deserve’ the cup because they realize the importance of this event and have come prepared with skill, strategy, and a sound team! We lacked all of that to begin with so basically, even though it was disappointing to see Pakistan get screwed by Ireland, it was no surprise. ‘kismat’ and ‘umeed’ alone don’t win you matches! Strategy and the determination of the team working as one does. It was unfair to ask of the bowlers to save you from a score of less than 150 against ANY team in the world!

Pakistan has to accept the bitter pill that we should stop sitting up and taking notice of things. The need of the hour is to get up and do something about it.

Naseem Ashraf, Waseem Bari – why are they so DHEET,,

How come a non-muslim coach failed to act like dheet and baysharam, and gave in to Destiny after suffering the SHOCK of HIS career,. by the Raiwind influenced team.

The team Blaming LUCK for defaet, not their inept approach for game.

The failure and all those who are instrumental of failure of the team are cause of BOB WOLMERs’ cardiac arrest.

He was 58 and healthy never had any cardiac history., as termed by the BBC Sports news.

Listen people, the reason we do not progress as a Nation is because we do not even know which direction of the body we speak from.
If we need to be objective in the criticism lets do it in a positve manner so we get something out of it.
Question Team performs badly Answer lets change the players Question who initially selects them? Answer Selection Committee lets change the selection committee Question Who is giving the media information? Answer Media manager Question is he objective? Answer if yes good, if not change him.
Out of all this for the first time what really has out good from a Pakistan tour is the media exposure which P J Mir from pakistan done for the Pakistani’s, lets give credit where due and criticise where due, and speak from the right quarters of the anatomy.

  83. ash (unregistered) on March 20th, 2007 @ 8:35 pm

Adnan why would i be surprised ? many people believe in God and yet they are still liberal/ secular …i could easily believe that about ghalib, i just didnt think you;d be in that category:) but your recent choice of quotations are softening your image,- you dont need to take that as criticism.
