Karachi Metroblog Art Competition

Update:
* You can send us a low resolution image if your bandwidth doesn’t allow you to email large attachments. However, you should be able to produce a high resolution image of your design if and when asked.
* You can use other taglines if you are feeling more creative.
* Please include the url: http://karachi.metblogs.com in the design.
* For any queries feel free to leave a comment.

I shall bump up this post from time to time for maximum exposure

Finally, the wait is over.

It is my great pleasure to announce Karachi Metroblog Art Competition.

We are inviting all the artists out there to come up with designs for Sticker and T-Shirts to be used for promotion of KMB. And yes, an exciting reward awaits the designer who succeeds in creating the most mind boggling design.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you loose yourself in the jungle of creativity.

* The design should have “Karachi Metroblog” prominently visible
* The design should also have the tagline “All about Karachi”
* The design must be submitted to us in JPG format, with dimensions not exceeding 11 inches by 7 inches.
* The design should be in high resolution, at least 300 pixels per inch.
* Needless to say, the design should somehow illustrate Karachi, the city, the life, the good, the bad, the whole nine yards (or parts of it). How you do this is what this contest is all about.

I guess that’s about it. Please email your entries by April 1, 2007. Don’t forget to include “KMB Contest” in the subject otherwise we might miss your submission due to huge amount of emails that we get.

Winners will be announced in April and prizes will be awarded at a grand KMB meetup.

Good luck and all the best.

I suggest that the URL should NOT include HTTP:// but just simply

karachi.metblogs.com – that itself is self explanatory – but we naturally leave that option for the designer

Something of interest for the Karachians. Hope you guys can spread the word around.

Now Karachiites have a chance to capture some enchanting moments through an evening celebrating the spirit of storytelling. It has been arranged for a beautiful evening, filled with the magic of Dastaan goi, on the 4th of April at FTC Auditorium. The event has been organized to raise funds for the nation-wide Education Program of TCF for less-privileged children across Pakistan.

A group of talented young performers from India, Mahmud Farooqui, Danish Hussain and Anousha Rizvi, who have revived this rare art form by presenting shows to packed houses in Dehli, Mumbai and Lucknow, have graciously accepted the invitation to perform in Pakistan. Let this magical event take you back to the make-believe world of magical realms and fakirs, of tender descriptions of love, of evil kings and vanquished demons and jinns.

Is it just me, or others have also noticed some wierd changes at KMB recently.

For starters, why is THIS post constantly on top of others? And also, Unaiza’s Superbrands post also mysteriously disappeared for a couple of days, and then reappeared sans my comment.

Please, can someone tell me that this is not just me, who is noticing all these strange happenings.

@ Arsalaan – There is not much more that I know. I can also add this bit of information,

that by your participation, you will be assisting in raising funds for 344 TCF school units educating over 40,000 students in 42 locations, all over Pakistan. Tickets are available at FTC for Rs. 2,500 per person.

The cause is wonderful. Please promote or participate which ever suits you.
