Irrelevant to the above, but would have been nice if some author had put some thought on Z.A. Bhutto’s anniversary on this day. Any ways, here’s the URL posted on BBC:

I salute Bhutto for his unmatched qualities and charisma.

    Hockey club of Pakistan, Karachi

  10. Arsalaan Haleem (unregistered) on April 4th, 2007 @ 11:26 pm

If I am not mistaken then it could be the DHA stadium, near the former Dalton Market area or famously known as the Khadda Market.

I was tring to post a comment on one of the posts
& saw this message, “In an effort to curb malicious comment posting by abusive users, I’ve enabled a feature that requires a weblog commenter to wait a short amount of time before being able to post again. Please try to post your comment again in a short while. Thanks for your patience”.

I think there was nothing wrong with my comments.

I dont remember myself using abusive or offensive language on KMB.

Do the editors still believe in freedom of speech?

I would say that before restricting the users to make comments, KMB editors should try to improve the quality of posts.

tamed: this is a precaution by the domain to prevent spam. we’re sorry for this inconvenience but everyone can only comment again after a certain time period has elapsed. this has nothing to do with the content of your comment.

as for ur guess, wrong again.
i had to size the image down to be able to upload it. even then, the image quality hasnt gone down that much. plz take a hint from the seemingly fire fly looking lights behind the stadium.

i couldnt have made it any more obvious for anyone who’s actually seen the place. the fact that not many have is a different story altogether. :D

    Asghar Ali Shah stadium!

there are certain advantages to living in North Nazimabad ;)

  16. sid (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 12:46 am

and we have a winner!!! :P

can u name the firefly lights? :P

  17. Tamed~. (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 12:54 am

    Many thanks for the explanation.

Is it really Asghar Ali Shah stadium, Shame on me,
I have played there atleast a couple of times.

Is Jhonty Rhodes pavillion still there?

  18. D0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 1:03 am

firefly lights you’re referring to are lights of people’s home, living on the hill opposite this stadium… the area is called “pahar ganj”

  19. sid (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 1:13 am

    tamed: ure welcome.

i’m not sure. i’ve never been inside the stadium. the pic above is a view from my roof.

doctor: yup. it is paharganj. a lot of people who come to drop me home sometimes are surprised to see a hill in karachi. a lot of karachiites dont even know it exists. there’s some development work goin on on the hills. havent posted abt it coz i dont know what they’re doin diggin up the hills too. as if the roads weren’t enough.

I hope you won’t mind me asking this but what line of work r u in?

so every day a new person comes to drop u home?:))

  21. Ali (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 1:35 am

I thought its Jinnah Ground, the post title says “Karachi # 90”, it reas as Karachi number nine zero. So I thought, it must be Jinnah Ground :P. But every one else is claiming National Stadium!!!, I am not sure about it, and I am bit confused :).

Can any tell me where it exactly is ?

  22. cc (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 2:10 am

    r u a mamu?

    can u read?

the name of the place has already been disclosed above!

  23. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 3:46 am

@Ali its Ashghar Ali Shah stadium… in North Nazimabad block C … Dr Mohammed Ali Shah of A O Clinic manages the stadium…

  24. Ali (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 9:30 am

sorry yaar, couldn’t read that before.

but why the post title says it is “in Karachi # 90”. Asghar ali shah stadium is in nazimabad and 90 is in azizabad.

  25. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 9:54 am

@Ali well its 90th “where in karachi” series pic…
it has nothing to do with that political party HQ that you’re referring to

  26. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 9:57 am

btw Ashghar Ali Shah stadium installed floodlights long before national stadium karachi and many world class players have played there

  27. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 11:06 am

Nabeel, zabardast! Can you tell how did you recognize it? What i guess that you got hint from that blinking orange and blue thing?

  28. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 11:09 am

Asghar Ali Shah se thora agay DeSilva town hay aur usk peechay Mashoor Karhai walay ki dukaan hay :D

  29. udass (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 11:24 am

  30. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 1:03 pm

  31. al khan (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 4:52 pm

“I salute Bhutto for his unmatched qualities and charisma”

    Thanks again Salman.

  32. HITMAN (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 7:18 pm

Well the hint was the lights (not the fld. lights) in the background, coming from the homes located on the hills of North Nazimabad

  33. Salman A. (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 8:07 pm

o bhai al khan, if this is something that makes you laugh, i would strongly suggest you go see some psychiatrist- one who cures constipated brains. if you laugh at people’s annivesary, i wonder wtf you feel sad?

sorry, but yeah, you sounded retarded.

  34. d0ct0r (unregistered) on April 5th, 2007 @ 10:30 pm

@al khan even Bhutto’s opponents saluted his qualities and charisma…

  35. al khan (unregistered) on April 6th, 2007 @ 12:39 am

@salman – it is a shame you had you come down to personal abuse on me, but i will not go so low to abuse you – and if you think that celebrating the death anniversaries of “politicians” is important for you – then carry on, good luck.

@doctor – agreed, maybe they did, BUT what use are qualities and charisma if not put to good use?

  36. Salman A. (unregistered) on April 6th, 2007 @ 2:55 am

Dear Al Khan, good reply. i take my words back. ok?

remember, we don’t ridicule those who are no longer with us and respect other people’s point of view. i like Bhutto for his positive qualities and i have no problem with someone disagreeing with me on that. but if you try to get unprofessional with me, i can go to your level as well or even further. i am quite well versed in those ‘tools’ as well. aakhir ko Karachi se hoon na.. LOL

    Salman, da peeeeeeeace lover……

  37. Tamed~. (unregistered) on April 6th, 2007 @ 4:41 am

    @ Salman,

    No threatening please.

  38. teymour (unregistered) on April 6th, 2007 @ 8:07 am

why is it that every discussion turns to politics for us pakistanis? i have been involved in many unrelated discussions that shave turned towards politics but this one started with a picture of a cricket stadium and ended with bhutto! i must say we pakistanis are quite the talented conversationists!
