Nabi key ghulamon ka shehar

Saw this banner hanging around Civic Center in which the Jamiat ulma-e- Pakistan has patted Karachiites on the successful Mehfil-e-milad.

It reminded me of all those traffic jams, blocking of roads (due to mehifil-e-milad) (specialy I remember the road coming from Punjab Chowrangi towards Sunset Boulevard where the Madrassa people had a “shamyana” and traffic was diverted on Sunday, 12th Rabiulawal), loud sound of the naats that were played on speakers fited on trucks and the show was carried out on roads (which offcourse involved security in the form of Police mobiles along them)

I wonder when will we the “nabi key ghuam” behave such that we really feel like the followers.

It also reminded me of the tragic incident that happened last year on the same occassion where many lost their lives and the “unkown suicide bomber” and the hands behind it were not known just like those unknown people who murdered Molana Shamsai.

Insecurity is no doubt the most untolerabale aspect of this city.

I think the best way to curb the talibanisation threat is to give in to the demand of sharia enforcment , but ask the mullahs to first settele the question that according to that sharia what is the punishment of the one who beleives that Hazoor pak (saw) is hazir-o-nazir and for the one who doesnt beleive so. Then my dear friends you will see how they fight like cats and dogs with each other and hopefully leave us alone.

Ghulami is only to Allah. Abd is Arabic for slave or ghulam. You can be Abd al-Rahman (Abdul Rahman) or Abd al-Hameed (Abdul Hameed). But it is sacrilegious to be Abd Muhammad. These people who claim to be the most knowledgeable (Ulama) should know better.

IF there is God, she needs no “ghulam”. Ghulami should only be to knowledge and rationality.
