Pedestrian Satire

Looks like a clever pedestrian found an evil idea near Khayaban-e-Ittehad.

What could be his intent in removing

r ” & ” v ” ?

Also, on other note :
Silent protest is an interesting form of conveying your views but showing difference of opinion/objection etc. Its popular in West & you often see groups shown doing it on TV.

Do you think this method be preferred over other as it’s less likely to result in a physical collision?

I dont think this has anything to do with silent protest. To me this is more of a sick humor by someone with a tall ladder and loads of free time.

To me, a true commentary on life itself! :)
    Macabre, but true!

    He may want to say

    – It’s not just about the speed bump. Don’t go crazy over roads as well.

    – In road accidents people die slowly so watch out if you have evil intentions.

@MB, I highly doubt that person who was fool enough to vandalize street sign actually wanted to convey any legitimate message.I seriously think this sign can actually cause an accident by confusing drviers.

I think its genius, but thats just me.

& yeah, only in Pakistan (Karachi), can drivers get “confused” by such a sign. I laugh everytime i pass it & if u know the history of the road (& one’s adjoining it for that matter),

there are a lot of speed bumps & all without florecent/glow in the dark paint.

When ever there is a power outage (which is often), the street lights go out & ppl end up missing the bumps completely.

One of my friends lived on near the Shell pump (Bahria is it?) & w/e his elec was shut down we received a call with running commentary on that nights traffic miss-happs. (I know it sounds outrageous, but his commentary was funny).

destruction of property!! destroyed the actual purpose of this sign…i am sure the person who did it had no purpose of doing so except his evil thinking!! reminds me of the old days when i used to travel in minibuses and coaches where they would delete the ‘naa’ from the phrase…’seaton pur paaon naa rakhen’ :)

    or a SPEED BUMP ?

If this story is true this book must come out. It should definitely be a hit along with mush book. Does anyone have any info on this subject related to Karachi ?

  16. d0ct0r (unregistered) on May 1st, 2007 @ 3:01 pm

what if all the similar “Aunties” of Karachi as well come out with similar books after all politicians/elites of karachi are no saints… in Washington DC as well an “Auntie” threatened to gave her client list to media…

  17. d0ct0r (unregistered) on May 1st, 2007 @ 3:18 pm

ask question from karachiites if they would like to see names of high profile clients of local
    “aunties” published

    @Doctor

DO you actually believe things presented in the indian media? Some of it could be factual, beacause I am sure something like this happens, but MNAs cant be tht stupid to go into a brothel and give their real names and identities.

they probably get deliveries and use their secretaries to do the dirty work.

And I would never expect Shaukat Aziz to be involved.

So the bottom line is, this article was stupid.

this whole thing is retarted. sex sells and someone must be trying to advantage of that by spicing up the much hyped auntie shameem issue in a book. one of the best sellers of the last few years were Hillary Clinton’s (forgot the name) and Bill Clinton’s “My Life”. Most people bought these paperbacks only because they wanted to know Bill and Hillary’s perspective on the famous monica lewisnky’s scandal.
    bewaqoof kaheen kay :))))))))

They can change their name & identity but what about face. Will they be using a mask or plastic surgery?

How can an MNA not be known by face? Tell me a business in the world where the seller doesn’t know his client ? Its not possible. Those who deal know whom they are selling what.

  21. Adnan siddiqi (unregistered) on May 2nd, 2007 @ 1:48 pm

So salman, Aunty Shamim is going to be desi monica lewinsky? :-)

On a side noted, Actoress Saima admitted that she had married Shah ji[Syed Noor] two years ago..

  22. Adnan siddiqi (unregistered) on May 2nd, 2007 @ 2:45 pm

@Doctor, I think you are referring to this:

  23. Salman A. (unregistered) on May 2nd, 2007 @ 7:30 pm

that would be a slam dunk scenario if anutie shamim gets portrayed as monica lewinsky. however, the bigger question is who takes the role of Bill Clinton. musharraf or aziz? shaukat aziz is a decent guy, i know for sure.. and on top of that, according to one of his friends, wo apni biwi se bohat darta hai.. :)))

so adnan, if Saima is also taken, what other options are we left with???

Dude, you gotta see shortcuts wife just once.

Sehba ko bech ai gi, pata bhi nahi chale ga (& do i need to remind anyone of the monstrosity that is our first lady??).

if only the little boys in afghanistan could write their own exposes on their lives under the taliban regime. If only all the righteous married men’s wives could write their own books on how they are treated by their husbands. Wait wasnt Imran Khan the honorable sleeping with Sita White? Purdah hai purdah.
Looks like only madames and prostitutes allegedly engaging in consensual activites with the current govt have any literally talent.
If you want to be scandalised by something real try reading mukhtar mai’s book instead of souped up bollywood stories.

    @MB

Can u or any other author post the following topic for discussion:

    “Pakistan downplays radioactive ad”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6616225.stm

an ad was placed bythe government asking people to report to them if they find any radioactive material that has been missing from the govt records….

to top it all the official said:

“This could have been before the creation of Pakistan, and may relate to nuclear material that could not be taken under our charge,” Zaheer Ayub Baig, information services director of Pakistan’s Nuclear Regulatory Authority, said in a letter to the BBC.”

can they get any more dumb:)

now the whole world would be after pakistan again for being an irresponsible nuclear state!

  27. Petarian_88 (unregistered) on May 3rd, 2007 @ 11:33 am

Nuclear material pakistan inherited from the UK!!?

Sounds silly as in the second world war the Manhattan project was based in the USA and by that time it was clear that India would be divided and granted independence so i don’t think the british would have shifted their nuclear material(i don’t think they had independant control of any at that time)to a country that they planned to leave soon!
