MQM , Karachi & Elephant

MQM has given 3 options to its supporters. I guess this had to happen. If only they had understood the designs of PML-Q they could sit at a side keep themselves clean, especially with all the good work done in Karachi helping it to build a new image. But the mistake has been made & so will be the consequences.

Javed Chaudhry has written a column especially for MQM this time if it could understand it. The starting has a Punjab touch to it buts its a must read for everyone especially MQM leadership. My question to you is, which third mistake JC is predicting ? Read the full article

    @khakan:

    “Show me where mqm has labeled all Sindhis and Punjabis as feudals??its on record that mqm has been saying that it is not against any GHAREEB SINDHI….”

    so Sindhis have to be ghareeb to be respected bythe MQM!! what about the few million middle class sindhis??

    only if anyone told these die hard MQM supporters what great damage they are doing to their party by threatening people like Imran khan…etc

    the biggest irony is that the ones who should be putting some sense in their party workers are the same people ordering them to do all these senseless acts in the 1st place!!!

    @Petarian_88,
    You are very welcome brother. Plz go read all my posts since may 12th and you will not find any abusive language direct to anybody in the blog.I just lost my patience yesterday and my appology that you became my target.
    mqm understands that Army is not the answer for problems and mqm is the one who has been talking about keeping army separate from politics.The reason why mqm is supporting Musharraf because These mullahs are more dangerous than the army and right now he is the only one who can save pakistan from these Mullahs. Can you imagine what will happen to Pakistan if these molvies get the power???we really dont want to convert Karachi in Kabul, Do you??
    I understand and accept that some of mqm workers are involved in criminal activities, but as I said earlier mqm is the only party which has this huge number of registered workers (not pakar dhakar or seasonal workers like other parties)and they belong to every field of life and every social status, it is a tough job to control specially in a city like Karachi. mqm is the only party which has check and balance and you only see news from mqm about suspending its workers for wrong doing.it is human nature to forget good things easily than bad things because i guess it has something to do with our memory and bad things have longer impact on our memory, so when one worker of mqm is found doing anything wrong would have very long lasting affect in your memory than many workers doign good things (I dont know if I am making any sense here but i hope you got the point).
    MQM sufferred 10 yrs long operation which really hurt its infrastructure. Trust me it will take sometime but mqm will gain its control over workers again. Don’t you think if workers were forced to join mqm, all of them would have left mqm? Dont you think that it was imposible for mqm workers to hide without the help of AWAM of Karachi???Why did they help them if they hated them so much?? They helped them because they are from them.mqm is from karachi, the workers are from us one of us they are either our relatives/friends/classmates/neighbours. Thats why mqm claims that Karachi is the city of mqm because its from us.
    I say it again I accept that some mqm workers have done some criminal activities, but its not the policy of mqm. There are some unit incharges involved in bad things but as soon as they are known to leadership, they are publically suspended.
    @CitizenofKhi
    I really dont come here to enjoy fighting with all of you. I write because i really cant let you spread hate and lies in public forum. I write with the hope that it may change someones negative thinking and when I read others comments I do read them with open heart so I may change my thinking if I find something with good logic and facts.

    Plz do include your sources when you reply, thanks

    @Khakan

    thanks for your reply.

    your appology is accepted :) no hard feelings!

    as i already said, MQM is supported by a majority of karachietes but you have to remember almost one third of the NA seats in the last elections in karachi were won by other parties as well!!

    so pls ack. the existenceof other communities as well, who number more then 40% of the total population acc to the last census!

    it is good that the MQM is ttrying to shed it’s ethnic colours in favour of a becoming a national party. i fully support that, though i have never vote for MQM (or any other party) and do not ever plan to vote for MQM. i just hope u will accept my right of doing so!

    infact i believe that it would be good for pakistan as it would have a moderating influence on MQM!

    how ironic it is that the party which represents middle class of sind choose to oppose the movement by laywers in support of CJP and all the laywers belonged to the middle class!!!!!!!!!!!
    truly tragic!!

    it was such a good oppurtunity of gaining the goodwill & trust of people all over pakistan if MQM had joined CJP not opposed it!! just like it did when it joined the relief efforts after the earthquake!

    Mb, then it would be some glitch at my end. Accept my apology. I post again.

    Since the topic is the sequel of CJ related post, Jang published a very famous event about importance of Justice in Islam at the time of Caliphs. Read below:

    http://tinyurl.com/2ewodd

    This is the SHARIYAH which our so called educated and enlightened cabal is not aware at all. Can Musharraf, the liberal and secular leader can go thru this process? He considers himself above the law. The enlightened class who learnt about shariah and Islam from western madarassahs like CNN,BBC and FOX can”t even Imagine that their englightened and secular leader Musharraf could go thru this process. We don’t need to look towards Britain and give example of Tony Blair when our own rulers go thru transparent process of Judiciary in past where noone was above the law.

    Khakan:”Go to any area in Karachi, you will find ppl talking against mqm and even against Mohajir”.

    Please do tell everyone what area’s these are.

    And if you dont have any evidence/data to back stuff up, doesnt that make your comments “accusations” & “hearsay” ??

    Evidence against mqm is abundant, or are the foreign bodies that recognise them as terrorist organisations “Jamaati’s” as well? :)

    @ Adnan: The problem is that these “Mullah’s” (MMA/the extremist that make the news), only highlight stuff that ‘suits them’.

    Islam is covers all bases. Ppl are scared of Shariah law because ppl like the Lal-Masjid fanatics are taking over areas & telling ppl “We are Shariah, follow us or we will hurt you”. Islam doesnt allow you to force your belives does it??

    The Holy Prophet (S.A.W) dint convert every non-muslim forcefully. Did He?. There was always freedom of Religion.

    Instead of burning down shops, taking ppl hostages, forcing ppl to grow beards/wears hijjabs, shouldnt these ppl be concentrating on the Villages upon Villages that are being converted by the Missionaries???

    Isnt THAT a bigger threat??

    Mush is corrupt just like these idiots. All of them abuse our religion to manipulate the common folk & make their power stronger.

    I don’t understand one thing, all the people belonging to MQM that I have met, seen, read about and / or interacted in any way have some very peculiar qualities:

    1. they are easy to piss off. they will become angry and start showing reactive behavior.
    2. i never found these people talking in a cool tone and / or sense for that matter
    3. they have no opinion of their own – its like they are brain washed
    4. Inferiority complex is at its hight

    my question to these people is WHY ??? … why would you NOT think? – Why you let only ONE thing given to you by Allah be taken away from you, i.e. your FREE-WILL
    – why can’t you talk based on facts without getting so angry and destructive ?
    – why on the streets of Karachi, if I want some budmashi to be done then I can hire you guys ?
    – SERIOUSLY ! – I have always been finding you guys to be for hire for any kind of budmashi! .. don’t you have any self-respect? – why do you promote the concept of MAHAJIRIZM ? for god sakes! after living so many years here in Pakistan, eating the salt of this earth, you still consider yourself MAHAJIRZ? – why ???

    Ok I apologize for some harshness in my comments above. I got all emotional when I was reading through the cursing part. Well, as a human being I would like NOT to go astray. There is one appeal of mine to the NEW breed of MQM. PLEASE DO NOT commit the mistakes your elders did, as I try not to do it also. We have to make our country a peaceful and a great place for our upcoming generation. Please bare that in mind that if we don’t do it then our next generation will not forgive us for the torments we will pass on to them. Also, I just can’t seem to understand the words, MUHAJIR, SINDHI, PUNJABI, BALOCHI and PATTHAN ! we are Pakistaniz for go sakes ! and on top it all we are Allhamdolillah MUSLIMS ! … don’t we remember the last saysings od our beloved Prophet P.B.U.H on the last pilgrimage of HAJJ ?

    PLEASE !!! LETS NOT ETHNICITY / RACE come between us. DONT YOU SEE ! … this is how we have been being influenced by EXTERNAL factors for a long long time. And what we are doing is passing this on to our YOUNG generation. There is NO such thing as a MOHAJIR, after when you have lived here long enough, or even after when you migrated to Pakistan, YOU ARE NOT A MOHAJIR ANYMORE PLEASE REALIZE THAT !! … I accept you all from the depth of my heart as my brethren ! but I really cannot accept the atrocities committed by your leader Mr. Altaf. I just cannot accept his teachings that FOCUS OUT you all under a MOHAJIR / URDU SPEAKING platform …. It is my plea to all you people belonging to MQM, I cant blame you for loving your leader as you were brought that way … but please start QUESTIONING BEYOND the geography of ETHNICITY. The plight of the people of Pakistan is not very good as a whole in case if you have not visited the rural areas of Pakistan yet. We have to join our efforts under one NATIONAL platform and let go of all HATRED and PEOPLE WHO EDUCATE this hatred.
    Now whatever our president is doing, he might think that he is doing right, but he making GRAVE mistakes that only our next generation would feel. He is using DIRECT power to shut down all channels that are even trying to go against him. HE WILL NOT LIVE FOREVER! but the spirit of freedom will RE-INCARNATE and is still the ever living. Either go for khilafat concept which is the true concept given to us by Islam OR you may choose DEMOCRACY under the circumstances. BUT PLEASE !! NO MORE ARMY !!! … they do a good job defending this country … NOT RULING IT. They should start respecting the civilians now. I know this for a fact that if Pakistan goes through even 3 democratic terms … there will be MASSIVE changes around. And that is IF our Army let any leader to be borned.
    Once again, I sincerely apologize for my post above, but I just cant help noticing these things that I wrote. If anyone of you could provide good logical proof I will accept MQM as a legitimate party and NOT a band of BUDMASHz – anyone ?

    So what happened to the three options given to MQM members? Looks like it was a drama after all, they just can’t leave government after having a taste of it.

    Everyone is blaming mqm for the incident of 12th may !!! its really horrible.Media has just shown one sided picture to the world. What about the other side? Why haven’t they shown the pictures and the photages to the people??? The majority of the people of karachi show their support to the MQM and since 1988 they are proving it by the ballot. Why don’t the political parties and others like so-called journalists show the ground realities to the world??? its really a big question mark. if its not be answered! 1971 could be revised !!! We the people of karachi are deprived.
