The Revolving Restaurant
Pakistan recently became the 42nd country in the world to have a revolving restaurant. Since its inaugration, Karachiites have been going in hordes (as per custom) to check out this wonder. Last night I decided to check it out for myself.
Old souls like myself should remember that Karachi had a revolving restaurant many moons ago but for reasons unbeknownst to myself, it was shut down around a decade ago.
Sitting on the 16th floor of the Ceaser Tower on main Shahra-e-Faisal, the view from the top is magical. At night you can truly see the city of lights in its full glory (except the areas where the power is out, hehe). Sitting on your chair you can get a 360° view of the city within 45 minutes flat.
The environment is Lal Qila-esque and the quality of food will give the Village a run for its money! I hogged on the Chinese delicacies especially since I’m a big Chinese food-aholic.
The prices comes out to be about Rs. 500 per head but the variety on the buffet menu is worth the empty pocket later on. Or not.
All is not peaches and cream, however. Those who suffer from motion sickness or are easily prone to nausea are advised not to visit. For confirmation, you can ask my mother who complained about feeling sick the whole time !
For the rest of you, bon appetit!
Price please ???
pictures anyone?
i’ve wanted to try that place out for the longest of times!!
sitting in my office I can get 360 deg view too, believe me ;-)
@ A FOR [PINE]APPLE, thanks for letting us know that you work (serve) at the Restaurant. You handle appropriately matches your job description :)
Where is this @?
I remember as a kid there used to be a revolving rest, shaheen complex if im not wrong. (which I probably am!).
& wouldnt the chinese be “Bangali-fied”?
i.e: har cheeze masala mar ke! :P.
Anyways, a bit more detail on the location please. ty :).

As I mentioned before:
16th floor of the Ceaser Tower on main Shahra-e-Faisal. You can’t miss it.
Please read carefully.
@Mr. Quraishi:
Yes, there was one at Shaheen Complex but these guys claim Pakistan is the 42nd country to have one (it says so on a banner inside the restaurant). I’m not sure when or why the one at Shaheen Complex closed down.
Sowwy, i did. But i have no idea which building is Ceaser Tower.
Is it on main sef?. Towards the right side?.
oh ok — but of course they would — they would want to promote it that way — but its certainly not the first — in fact i remember this horse shoe restaurant or something on sharea faisal also having one — not sure — was very little then
i guess shaheen complex must have closed down because ‘motor kharab hogayee hogi’ :)
or maybe ‘motor may kachra agaya hoga’ and it would no longer be revolving!!
its a good place! shud atleast be visited once, cuz of its uniqueness.. n ofcourse, watta view!! i was very young when the old revolving restaruant existed, but loved it nevertheless..

do they allow photography there?
majority of the ppl can not even enter it.
good for all those who like to visit it, it will give them a feeling equal to a mount everest climber, not everyone gets to do that. that surely is a sense of achievement!
maybe ill hav stomach cramps when i enter it myself too….

It said so inside the restaurant when you enter. Assume something and you’ll make an ass out of yourself mostly.
yeah i remember going to that revolving restaurant on sharae faisal as a kid….. there used to be a circular revolving disk….
There was one in Murree as well. I dined there in 1992, don’t know if it is still there
Well!!!! I remember going to a Revolving Restaurant in 1988.. at a revolving Restaurant.. in Karachi! when i was ummm 7 year old! so its not something so new and exciting.. anyway! I hope they give a good meal.. rather than only “Chakkars”:P
The view was great though im not sure i can say the same about the food.
7/10.
Revolving resturant – 16th Floor Ceaser Tower Opposite Ayesha Bawani School – Ceaser Towers is also known as IT Park Building ON Main Shah rae Faisal while going towards airport from Metrople, The Building have Range Rover Showroom on the ground floor.
Food is Good and view is Panoramic :) be it Lunch or Dinner :)
I guess this isnt the first revolving resturant, there was one earlier on top of shaheen complex. Anywho the revolving resturant has its own website too the revolving.
My office is in the ceasers tower so we had the opportunity to have lunch there, the lunch menu isnt that great but considering the price (Rs. 199 + tax) its ok, hi-tea i believe has more items and costs the same amount of money
the revolving is kind of unstable , you can tell by the water in your glass on the table that it keeps shaking…
the decor was nice, and the view at night would be really great
The place is good to visit but the food quality is not good
