Precious lives lost, 3 men fell in open hole

Breaking News:-
Three men fell in an open main hole & died near Pakistan Chowk. Another report says its due to the poisonous gas in hole that caused the death. Life of a common man has become so worthless due to the lack of civic facilities. Every now and then we hear such incidents occurring. There should have been precautionary measures taken if it was due to gas. In incidents involving VIPs, immediate dismissal of poor local town/municipal officers would take place but i guess an announcement of one lack rupee will take place & everyone will forget this. Those people, whoever be , may well be the bread earner for their families. I heard one of them was from fire fighter staff/employee.

A related issue on lack of civic facilities is the disappearance of foot paths on roads causing incidents of minor & major incidents. A cousin of mine who was doing MBA from IBA lost his one year due to a similar incident few years back in which a truck ran over his leg from back while he was walking on road. And then the recent emergence of drinking water diseases & fire incidents & worst it not getting in control even after 24 hours. Will someone bother to do something about more important and necessary requirements of this city?

    Oh GOD!!

    This is misterious!!
    The City District Government is going for building huge flyovers and underpasses instead of providing basic necessities. These underpasses and flyover are also not for common people. These are to make VVVVVVIP movement easier.

    The goverment hasnt take any action on more than 50 precious lives lost on 12-May, how it is possible that they can notice this event!!

    sad indeed … Canadian national(kafila siddique) dies here and canidian parliament take notice, husband of British national(SC’s registrar Hammad Ahmed) dies and the british govt takes notice… whereas countless Pakistanis die here as well as in other countries and are maltreated around the world by different agencies and our incompetent govt simply doesn’t care if they die or rot..

    Doctor;

    sadly the cheapest thing in the country is human life unless you have another one of those coloured passports (besides the green one).

    Planner Bhai;

    I disagree with you, flyovers were made in view of some other vested interests beside VVIP movement. They have been proved to be one of the more scientific way of making money as opposed to bhatta khoori.

    I have never understood that if govt. can’t provide us covers for man holes then why don’t neighbourhood gets itself. How much does it cost ?? I guess not much. Why don’t we try to help ourselves and always wait for some accident to happen and then blame govt. If you see some thing like this, ask neighbourhood to give money for that. I am sure there would be always few generous people in EVERY neighbourhood that would be glad to bear all expenses.

    OBI da reason is pakistan chowk is not a neighbourhood, also da reason is we pay tax n do u know if ur salary is in thousands you have to pay some amount of tax on it but if you are earning billions in STOCK you pay zero in tax on its profit? n i heard gov has declined to bring these in tax net in this budget as well, because this establishment is for VIP’s not for common man, also because it is out this attitude which makes us indiffirent towards human life, also becoz if gov cannot provide us cover it means there is no gov at all as per da defination of gov. if we consider ourself at da place of those who lost lives n come out of da air conditioned rooms only then u understand the misery of the man on street

    Tragedy does happen but who are the people who are STEALING these MANHOLE covers,They are from amongst US.Why we as citizen Catch them and give them an EXEMplary punishment?
    @ Sameer
    You and other like you just play politics, when you make money in stock exchange you pay TAXES when you pay your personal taxes on your income, if a corp is buying and selling stocks the corp pays taxes on the income or get advantage if you loose money in stock, this is for your info only.

    Sameer, I know Pakistan Chowk is a business area and I also know that many of those business are dealing in Crores.

    So what is your solution ? The govt. is not helpful, put blame on it and move on ? Does it change any thing ?? This simply means that we are accepting defeat that what can we do ?? “Yah to hona hi tha”.

    PKhan, I guess there is no tax for capital gains in stock exchange in Pakistan[at least for foreign investments] and if I could recall correctly then govt. was thinking to extend this policy by 2014 last month(read in newspaper last month). But if there are some hidden clauses and conditions then I might be wrong as I am not in Karachi.

    If you need to protect yourself Carry a License gun aur be brave some one has to take some bold step, If people of the area kEEP their eyes close that who is taking away their manhole covers then just leave that to Allah,’ is main bhi khuda ki maslaihat ho gi’, Just grow up take some responsibility be alert be aware of your surroundings, otherwise hide in a hole.
