Rashid Minhas Road – Jammed for over 4 hours

On my way back from work at approximately 7pm, as I took the turn from Shahrah e Faisal to Rashid Minhas road, I was faces with immense traffic congestion. It took me over an hour to cross the length of that road and reach the Millenium mall intersection.

At approximately 11.15pm, I was outside, and the jam is still, pretty much there! Anyone has updates on whats causing this?

Traffic seems to be moving, but at a snails pace and the line was very very long!

probably u take the wrong route mate… coming from shahrah e Faisal, during 5.00-7.30 its always better if u come thru karsaz and instead of getting on the bridge at the national stadium, come thru the back side of the stadium(i donno what it’s called and it depends on where u wanna go) and then hit University road near bait ul mukarram and then take a U-turn from there assuming that u wanna go to NIPA…

regarding the WHY… well, its because of the stupid leasing companies… the govt,in its attempt to make cars available for all (which was a gr8 thing), forgot to foresee that it needs to have wider roads,flyovers/underpasses BEFORE all this happened… however,i still believe that no matter how many wide roads or underpasses they build, until or unless,QUALITY public transport is available, this problem cannot be solved…

btw, does anyone know about the green CNG buses? when are the 8000 buses arriving and when wud they be starting operation?

as for the rest of u who criticized the poor soul… come on guyz, give him a break…all he did, was invite comments about a pertinent problem… or maybe, its the typical karachite practice of getting irritated over trivial things … which btw, is ONE of the sideeffects of enduring long traffic jams!!

Yesterday, I went by the same way and went from side road (beside Masjid-e-Hilal) and took wrong side to the millenium.

Waisay, it is a normal to have such traffic congestions in karachi.

correct! Even i got stuck at the uni plaza and techno city, new chali road at 7 45 pm yesterday, the worst traffic standards i have ever seen, though three police men were guarding the traffic, but then the same thing, lack of education and absence of mind, makes a pakistani traffic police man, rather i must mention the fact that one of them was just busy in gathering “CHAI PAANI”.

But I think so it is good news for Gulistan-e-Johar’s citizens that City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is planning to construct flyovers on Millinum Interchnage, Johar Mor as well as Gulshan Chowrangi and Nagan Chowrangi. It menas it is same just like a Signal Free Corrdior No. 1 which start from Shahrah-e-Faisal and end to SITE. It would be signal free corrdior and CDGK named it Signal Free Corridor No. 2. So I think so you will be free from Traffic Jam.

I think the concerned authorities should reduce the petrol price by at least 50% untill the construction work in Karachi is finished because traffic jams burn 300 times more
petrol then normal. Its OK for the rich i presume. And what about the ill people who
suffer or die in the ambulances? What about the ect ect ect ……. And what about …. What can i say. Hum bolayga to bologay k bolta hai. Hum CHUP.

There’s a jam there almost every other day. Better to avoid going thru that route altogether.
