Candles express it best!

newP1020511.jpg

The above picture is not from any art gallery or a rendition from any artist, it is what the heat wave, combined with lack of electricity has done to Karachi!

This candle stand sits on our center table in the sitting lounge. The candles softened and bent within 1 night, just before the monsoon storm hit the city (couldn’t post it earlier as we got electricity just yesterday after 4 days!).

Other articles around the house have also taken impact of the heat wave, though the candles express it best!

Lol….during last year’s loadshedding, the same thing happened to my candles. Sad part was that it really did look like art.

Hilarious – even the candles could not handle the load shedding

LOL! It does look beautiful. You should use some clever lighting and trying to capture a low angle shot or some other angle and see how beautiful it comes out. You can then print it and frame it or sell it online and make some $$$ :d

As the candles were telling me their sad story I wrote it in the heat of passion. So the events didnt take place in the same order as I wanted to keep it short and simple with grammatical mistakes.:) But the story continues….

.Then there were beautiful girls in the Pak Tower
Mall staring at the boys. The boys were staring at the girls. It was tough shopping. The frustration in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife

    @ SHAHIDUSA & FAISAL SIDDIQUI

Bhaiyoun … agar yahi Mullah na hotay tou aap kay walidain ki shaadi ko validate karnay wala bhi nahi hota …. souch lijiyae phir loug aap ko kis “naam” say yaad kartay.

    Do think before ink !

.Then the mullahs got upset again :-)~ (nevermind) So everybody was staring at everybody in the mall. There was no privacy and security anywhere. In the resturant nobody knew how to make a line.Everybody wanted to get served first. It was a chaos and selfishness everywhere

  20. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 29th, 2007 @ 1:04 am

.It sounds like a hell to me, I added. Yes kind of,
Candles replied. But there are people who are very nice, decent, hardworking, and much better than these religious extremists.Girls and boys should be able to speak their minds and should not be verbally harrased.I agreed, I said

  21. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 29th, 2007 @ 3:16 am

.Then the male candle shown on the left said that “I got married to her”, pointed towards the candle on the right.”I kept eating the junk (full of cholestrol and sugar) food”

  22. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 29th, 2007 @ 4:56 am

.”During the wedding ceremony my parents seperated men and women just like they seperated us in the picture.Dinner time came and everybody jumped on the food. It was some choas”

  23. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 29th, 2007 @ 8:27 am

.Talking about dinner I had to go eat mine.Candles said “there is a fight going on in the other pages but its nice and peaceful in here the way we like. Why cant we all just get along!?”I left candles there to have dinner and go to bed

Good morning!I am Sorry I did nt get your name,I asked the male candle. My name is Mian Chaudry and hers is Biwi Farooqui. She insisted in keeping her last name and I did nt mind. We were born in China, but my parents are from punjab and hers from India

  25. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 29th, 2007 @ 11:00 pm

Can I ask you if you dont mind about your shape? I asked candles.”Well as you can see we both broke our backs and it happened gradually.Once we were in a car accident and were not wearing any seatbelts”

  26. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 30th, 2007 @ 12:54 am

I left the room for a short break. When I came back I saw both the candles arguing eacthother. They were blamming eachother for their broken backs

  27. faisal siddiqui (unregistered) on June 30th, 2007 @ 1:40 am

    Hasan Zuberi,

You portray urself as a pious man and then you had to drag my parents into this. May be its you who need to think and think hard before you ink.

And what i wrote was a joke. there is a difference b.w a mullah and a pious man.

The people that i would want to get rid of pakistan are the kind who make mosques on illegaly acquired lands and then threaten to attack with suicide bombers if attacked. Like the lunatics found in Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa. I sincerely hope you dont fall in that category.

  28. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 30th, 2007 @ 3:03 am

Hey what are you doing in my room ! Just kidding :-)
And when the society here will be open ,I am sure we would hear some mullahs (not all) have molested young boys (no offense)just like some christian priest have here in America. May be this one reason they dont like society to be advanced hmmmmm

  29. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 30th, 2007 @ 12:35 pm

I appologize for my above remarks.

  30. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on June 30th, 2007 @ 3:58 pm

.Candles were still arguing.I didnt want to interfere. I offered my help but they refused it.
They said they didnt want any outside help. Candles had a pride. Then something happened.Candles stopped arguing

  31. ShahidnUSA (unregistered) on July 1st, 2007 @ 12:57 am

Candles looked at eachother and said “we will not argue anymore. Its wasting our time. We will both go out and work hark regardless of what problems we face outside. Every city in the world has its own problems. And before we bring any children in
this city we will make it beautiful as they will be.We will stand our on feet like Minar-e-Pakistan”.
    “FIRM AND STRONG”
