Goths and suburbs are the places where actually it is MANUFACTURED and used by maximum of people. Since the SINDH Govt put a ban and Area Police and Naib Nazims are Empoered to arrest the manufacturer and supplier, It is transported into the city via buses & mini buses. "GOODS" are collected by designated STOPs. Payment is transferred via same mode, the carriers are charged little as they get their supply free.

All this stuff is sold to consumers, anyone like you and me if walk and ask for it, the cabin / stall holder will decline, saheb haam aysa saman nahi baychatay.

:) Learned it outta Curiosity from a bus conductor / cleaner who i picked up to drop in Karachi Saeedabad when coming back from HUB.

Yes, I remember this and many other health promotion campaigns that were (and hopefully, still are) displayed at the clinic when I worked there last summer. the Community health services dept was doinga lot of work with the Rehri Goth community on substance abuse issues since a large % of the population is afflicted with the problem (more so than in urban areas).
Perhaps there should be health warnings plastered around paan-walas so that people might start to think about it differently. Paan and Gutka are lifestyle choices, and the only thing that can control them is strong, aggressive moves by either our government or by public awareness campaigns. But nevertheless effective policy change is required for this sort of social change, otherwise health promotion and education campaigns are just powerless in reaching their goals.
