Jashn-e-Azadi #1: Independence Day Resolutions
Last year, i proposed we setup Independence Day resolutions.
Every year, on the eve of January 1st, we setup our new year resolutions to better ourselves for the coming year.
This year, i propose we setup resolutions to better our selves as Pakistanis (no matter where we are) and to both make stronger our communities and our country!
All we need, is one resolution each.. the spillover effect theory would take care of the rest!
For readers who remember it, and had setup some themselves, let us know how successful were you in them. For everyone else, please let us know what you intend to make this year.
Read on for how i did on my own resolutions
My resolution last year was to be a better driver, and as much as i could, i’ve stuck to it. My horn usage is down to short bursts, and thankfully, i haven’t been ticketed much in the last year. However, a couple of times, i did have to ‘settle’ it the wrong way because it was just too much of a hassle to get it back.
This year, my resolution is to be more green! I promise myself to
1. Conserve as much petrol as i can, and use CNG.
2. Where ever possible, walk.
3. Be more proactive in saving water.
and lastly,
4. Change the light bulbs at my house to energy savers, and turn off unnecessary electrical appliances.
Whats your independence day resolution?
Long Live Pakistan
Good Idea, but if every one make a promise to himself or herself to do ‘ONE GOOD DEED A DAY’ OR “HELP ONE DISADVANTAGE PERSON” thats 16 crore people if even one crore of them follow we will be winner,,,
I will save in a GOL_LUCK Rs.10 per week starting 14th August to buy a BIG flag for March 23 2008,.
Iss sach ka joke ban_nay jaa raha hai…. !
I will take rishwat at a lower rate for my country.
Kill a dozen jews a week, amongst other trouble-making races.
1.volunteer at edhi or tcf.
2.say ‘no’ to beggars.absolutely.i think that’s
only way of eradicating the profession.
Congrats! The dictator has signed the documents to impose EMERGENCY. He has given an awesome gift on 60th anniversary of Pakistan.
Its time to windup all blogs and other things which could hurt the dictator during his “Selection”.
Musharraf says state of emergency probable…
Welcome ghost of Ayub KHan
MY RESOLUTION:
Khuda Ke Liye be a more tolerant and reflective (Human Being), for our common ground is that we are all human beings, before we are buddhist or muslim or jew or zorastrian or hindu or christian etc.
NB:
Imagine the “spillover effect” theory taking its effect, in case of Mr. Antisemite above: “Kill a dozen … a week”
Pathetic.
@Antisemite – i say you would be Much Macho & Brave if you can manage your anger / hate :) Killing / taking other human’s life is not a solution. Killing results in more killing and the saga continues. :) Grow UP.
@ Adnan Siddiqui
@ Antisemetic
Adnan , do not follow the rumour mongers , its haram in Islam.
@ antisemitic
you act like a racist?
my resolution,
I AM GOING TO QUIT “BHARAM BAAZI” AND WOULD URGE ALL AUTHORS AND READERS TO DO THAT TOO.
