Jam on Shara-e-Faisal

I am in office, and from my window I can see that Shara-e-Faisal (Metropole to Airport side) is jam packed, which is very unusual for this time of day. Anyone know why?

Because people have blocked the road and i dont know why they are protesting. They appear to be activists of Jamiat-e-Talba

Most probably the protest is against the killing of jamiat member. According to the news agencies he was killed a week ago during a voilent clash b/w MQM and Jamiat by MQM activists in Jinnah Post Graduate College.

ovais …….. thts so bookish argument ……
to be honest … politicians are not part of us ….
they are just ppl frm outer world … unaware of common ppl problems

  23. yes sir (unregistered) on August 23rd, 2007 @ 6:10 pm

but i think its the common people who makes them so influential.. the other name of common ppl are dead ppl which truely proves correct considering pakistan.

THE COMMON DEAD PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN, and we are all included by the way,,,, the deadliest of all. who can only pass judgments and arguements on nearly every thing..

I got stuck at 8am near Gora Qabristan for 20 mins. Experienced another massive jam going towards Korangi for 1 hour. Traffic guys were quite helpful but all roads (and most of the drivers) are totally chaotic.

Traffic police is allowed to block and divert traffic at their will – without any information to road users…. ! the telip is on Dhoom TV

Rashid minhas road will be the worst of nightmares, starting next week – from Aug 2007 upto March 2009 the area will be total CHAOTIC. if you can manage, :) move to other place, sign a 18 month tenancy contract somewhere else. away from Rashid Minhas road, between, NIPA and Sharea Faisal, stretch

you dont know what happened but you dragged mqm into it. how very sufficient.

it was a clash between jamiat and PSA (punjabis).

karachi is messed up big time… ramzan is just round the corner and the traffic mess is simply out of hand.. jams in ramzan would be nail in the coffin of Nazim-e-nala and his tall claims…

now u people decide to drag APMSO into it !!

    good going !!

    long love citizen journalism !!!

Just read the news that the Governer has banned holding rallies on main roads in Karachi. Its a good step but kind of late.

They should also come up with some strict rules against people who block these roads for demonstrating their power. Do you guys know what happened to those five ANP terrorists who were arrested while transporting illegal weapons in Karachi? I read one more news about two more ANP terrorists who were caught with illegal weapons near Saurabh ghoat! they blocked the road again!!! Freaking idiots.
