boriat had a unique concept. However, doctor, he didn’t close due to any political pressure. Atleast I am sure about it. :-)

Boriat.com is/was a nice site. Taking the challenge of entertaining Urdu contents head on, Shariq had been doing a lot of effort (almost) single handedly. Not only the language barrier crossing is the star feat of the site, the sarcasm quality embedded in the posts used to be immensely entertaining. And all this was done without any major financial support from anywhere.

As Shariq moves out of Pakistan to pursue his professional career, I can only wish that he find Urdu enthusiasts back at home or even at his new place and keep the site running.

Agree to TEE EMM. Shariq done a lot of effort to maintain this site as well contributing to Urdu computing. I wish he can return to boriat from his new place…

Shariq has done a tremendous job in promoting urdu on internet. Most users do not bother about their national language and are very much content in learning and praising English. Their world starts and ends within English circle , they cannot comprehend the value and importance of national language and people who are sacrificing their time to promote it.

Suspension of Shariq’s site is a great loss to Urdu Localization efforts on Internet.

The site can continue if few volunteers come up.
