Naked progress

http://karachi.metblogs.com/archives/images/2007/09/sepmb/khi-progress-thumb.JPGProgress is quite a complex word. We have got skyscrapers now. We have got glittering shopping malls now and also under, over and everywhere passes (with whatever standard). But where is the common man in all of this movie?. This photo properly answers it. It shows the man going forward but without anything to wear. Its not that no one is progressing but as in past, its just the lucky few. Can we call the progress by few as “progress” generally?. Yes BANKs, Car dealers, Oil companies & Sugar mills progressed leaps and bounds recently but what that is to do with common man?. You need minimum 10K salary to have a bank account now & our standard is 4500 rupees. How can a common man even be a part of this dictatorial-monopolistic-progress in current plan?. And this is prolly 5th or 6th time i saw this type of situation, lucky to have a camera this time. And do i need to tell you about the number of naked children one can easily spot?

I am still waiting for a some real development project that has anything do with education, health, low-income housing or jobs etc. Don’t worry, i have plenty of em on paper with me too. I know the academic genius will again bash about typical trickling down effect of investment argument. But 8 years (almost equal half of what Mahatir required to turn Malaysia around, he didn’t even had any stick) were not enough so lets wait 80 more. On other note, the society is indifferent, the so called NGOs are sleeping (its not a women issue to be cashed in $’s you know), the elites don’t give a shit & the gov. , well silence is more meaningful here. I am seriously clueless on whose responsibility these people are.

Now Drig road flyover is closed for repairing. Guys stop using that bridge as you know that “reparing” of bridges lead to a disaster.

I think I have seen this guy on the Rashid Minhas Road and I thought he was crazy to be roaming around like this.

    MB you are utterly wrong,

like some acredited blogger have said earlier here on this forum – “being naked” is also fashion, do We have a problem with that ?

While I agree with you, just to correct, a basic banking account can be had with no minimum balance.

What completely spurious reasoning. This photograph does little to prove your point–assuming that there is one beyond typical desi melodrama. If this is your idea of the “common man”, you need a reality check. This man, while certainly unfortunate is not your common, everyday Pakistani citizen. This is not to say that the typical Pakistani is doing superlatively well, but if you’re going to argue that this the state of the “common man”, then you’d better get out there and rip the clothes off everyone else as well, because otherwise it’s just specious logic.

Oh come on MB, I cant beleive you can do this, how can you take somebody’s picture and put it online, and if somebody is naked ??? oh my god, thats a crime.

And FYI this is not a situation of a common in our society, I am not saying that the condition of a common is good, but its not worse like this, in India there are more percentage of ppl who are poor, as compared to Pak.

For a person like this who comes naked, it depends on a state of his mind which is not normal. I am pretty sure that many ppl have tried to hand him clothes but as I said it depends on mental level.

    @ MB

I think it is a really shamefull thing you did.!!

how can you take someone’s naked picture and post it on the internet.

this poor soul deserves dome respect.

do u think he is doing this because he does not have the money to buy clothes or people would not have given their old clothes to him??

he is certainly insane and not in control of his mental faculties and the govt should put him and people like him in some old people home or mental asylum.

you and your likes think that they are the cool ones / know it alls!!!! this shows that you are not in control of your mental faculties either!

if you have one iota of shame left in you then remove this picture!
