Tax Time

Image003-j.jpgLooks like CBR is finally ‘going out’ to meet its targets. The Board has set up ‘helpful’ ‘Tax Kiosks’ one of which was spotted at The Forum in Clifton. This is equipped with a printer and two guys were manning this kiosk. When they are there, they are providing forms and other basic information to the people who seem to be more interested in the change rather than the tax itself.

From a new website to problematic e-filing to simplified tax return forms, the otherwise notorious mom-of-taxation is up for a change over for the past couple of years. But is the change just skin deep? Or have we actually got to the state of receiving tax refund checks in our mail? What is your experience with CBR so far?

The biggest fear is that the SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) including Tax, set by Musharraf Gov. may go away with him and we will be back to zero. A leader we all use to love is being fired upon also by us. Even after seeing the looting in the times of former leader and the progress me made during his time. How crazy of a nation we are. It is like shooting ourselves on our own foot.

This system would ensure that whatever is implemented it cannot be rolled back. It was suppose to be completed in 1999, the notorious BOHOOROO CRACY put their G ka zoor to shelve it but failed.

Taxation have become very simple, the number of Zeros after the 1st digit determine how much you Thick $HIT you may end up in. Then starts the bargain. :) Its a vicious circle., we are spell bounded.

Leakage is less, but still trickling exist.

On issue of national reform, in the interest of PAKISTAN …

Wish the gullible People of Pakistan would STOP following the fundamentalists (who are dragging Pakistan into shit), and START seeing common sense for creating a diverse society as is the case everywhere else in the World.

Wish the People of Pakistan would ‘develop’ a logical mind to keep a visionary leader like Musharraf IN and keep mediocre selfish politicians OUT.

But Alas! We are destined to live in caves for another 1400 years.

What a shame. Collecting tax from poor masses while the feudal lords are given a free hand.

The joke is that even the Army dictators can’t collect taxes from these agriculture giants and the land lords.

    Wake up Pakistan!

Straight Talker, you said it. Country Defecit can be recovered if we tax them feudals and stop the injustice when rural workers are not subjected to cruelty under feudal tyranical “rule”.

These damn feudals are so strong today only because we saw the likes of Nawaz and Benazir in the past. With their return, they’ll get even stronger!
