Why do u guys feel shame in adding another option:

    “I am not Muslim”

    Now, dont tell me

    1. KMB is not visited by non Muslims
    2. “I do something else ” is covering non-Muslims (because both Muslims and non-Muslims can select this option)

    Plz !

umar, kindly add another mentioned option which is valid as well and save this thread-Thanks.

Did you graduate from NED in 90’s? I know a guy named Alam and am trying to figure out if you are that person. Of course you can choose not to answer this question.

    Thanks.

    @MS

Can u imagine the number of ALams who graduated from NED in 90s?

There r so many ALAMs, Siddiquis, Sheikhs, Syeds, etc r roaming in KHI that it seems like the Arabs procreate only in South Asia. Which Alam r u referring to? :)

    Shahood Alam?

  8. MS (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 1:25 am

    @ Moid Alam,

I know only one Alam and that is you I think ;) If any of the following rings the bell then yes you are that person.

    Mati-ullah and his morning/afternoon ki chai :)
    Nigel Lorie
Mian sahab and my fight with him :(
Betting software in C++ RPC :O

So would it be correct to assume that “Moid Alam” != “ALAM” on this forum? It’s not like I care, but its just I was curious :)

  9. ALAM (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 1:36 am

Please also add another option which goes something like “I am an atheist and I take great pleasure in eating and drinking while I watch people around me starve themselves for no good reason”.

  12. Cult of Atheism (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 11:59 am

Atheism is the cult which is more lame and hollow than hinduism which’s based on idol worshiping. atheism is also a RELIGON to reject God and follow baseless EVOLUTION. ask an atheist why his ancestors transformed from pigs to humans, he will not be able to answer you. infact he would start acting like a pig and will curse u.

  13. me (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 1:05 pm

For your information, atheism isn’t a religion. It has no prophets, no holy books, no customs and traditions. In fact it is actuually an anti-religion. It rejects organized religion and all the traditions and beliefs that go along with it.
“ask an atheist why his ancestors transformed from pigs to humans, he will not be able to answer you.” ….Then could you please give me the answer instead?

  14. Cult of Atheism (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 1:20 pm

boy i might know more about ur belief than you.religion is a form of Belief so atheism is belief to NOT accepting God but believe lame and baseless evolution theory.

“Then could you please give me the answer instead?”
    God!

  15. me (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 3:36 pm

Good answer man. That has really put all my questions to rest. God. The one stop shop answer to any question that you don’t know anything about. How was the universe created…God. How did humans come about….God. How did th dinosaurs die…God.
Learn to think a bit and explore other options. Don’t be so afraid….you can’t go to hell for thinking.

  16. me (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 3:56 pm

And by the way, having a belief does not qualify as a religion. If I asked you “Do you believe in unicorns?” you would most probably say “No”. So does that mean that you are part of a anti-unicorn religion? No it doesn’t, in the same say that saying that you don’t believe in God does not make atheism a religion.

  19. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 7:19 pm

ME, nobody cares whether you are an atheist or a follower of some religion as long as you are within your limits and don’t abuse others just because they don’t follow your belief. LEARN to respect. The way alam and other atheists morons have abused on this forum is beyond the limits. If abusing can help you people to ask someone to quit a God then I must say you live in a fools’ paradise. Respect others and argue with logic.

as far as your theory of God. I must say your knowledge about God is as worst as knowledge of a kid about Einstein’s theory. You ask about thinking, why your lil brain don’t grasp the logic that everything is made by its creator. If someone doesn’t believe in a CREATOR of anything then he should consult some doctor for mental illness. According to ur belief than, Me as a software engineer doesn’t matter at all because all softwares would be created itself or following some computerized evolution when some IC tranformed into a Web 2.0 application. Duh!

  20. me (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 7:29 pm

“as long as you are within your limits and don’t abuse others just because they don’t follow your belief”. My thoughts exactly.

However, you chose to follow that with “your knowledge about God is as worst as knowledge of a kid about Einstein’s theory. You ask about thinking, why your lil brain don’t grasp the logic that everything is made by its creator”. If you want to have dialogue, then there is no need to insult.

In reference to your software engineer analogy, what if I told you that Microsoft Word had been made by an invisible being? You would tell me to f. off. But what if since you were born, everyone had been telling you the same thing (that it had been created by an invisible being) you would end up believing it. Even if it didn’t make logical sense to your mind, you would believe it since everyone around you believed it. And to make it easier for you to believe, what if you were promised great rewards for believing and punishments for disbelieving?

Try and take a step back and look at religion. Try and think about it, don’t just start insulting and threatening everyone who questions your point of view.

  21. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 8:47 pm

This is my last answer to you because you are yet one of several atheists which I have encountered in past 5 years. That is, you didn’t even respond about a importance of a creator.
    You said:

In reference to your software engineer analogy, what if I told you that Microsoft Word had been made by an invisible being? You would tell me to f. off

No, if i was an atheist then certainly I would have used similar tone because this is what they do when they find no answer. SEEING is not the only sense to figure out something. If I eat something sweet and then I take a cup of tea with sugar, it still doesn’t produce sweetness to me. Why is that? according to your theory, SEEING is BELIVING. I can see sugar in my cup but i can’t say it’s SWEET. Similarly, I can’t see AIR but if i am some lame atheist then I would say “F* off, there is no AIR around”. Refuting your fictitious theories doesn’t mean Insulting YOU.

Religion doesn’t mean Reject science, you mentioned why ppl fast(or starve), just bother your fingers and google, yo would find out scientific advantages of FASTING. If you don’t know something or can’t comprehend then it dosn’t mean it’s not available.

If you are jus willing to troll, spare me then but if you are really in mood to argue then contact me off the site. my email is adnan(dot)siddiqi(at)cyber(dot)net(dot)pk. No further answer to you here.

    PORK-NAAN (Siddqui)

There r many questions about us that we don’t know. But it doesn’t mean we should go ahead and start making a fantasy world full of mysteries, rituals, and stupidity. Thats what you do, and call it religion.

If I don’t know when its going to rain, i wont start praying, but think hard about reasons, alternatives, and then do something about it. This is called rationalism.

  23. Reality_Check (unregistered) on September 14th, 2007 @ 9:55 pm

Evolution is a fact not a theory anymore. It has been proven without doubt, even Dr. Israr Ahmed accepts it, however, what he suggests that though humans in the current form + Neanderthals (who died out 50,000 yrs ago) exist on the Earth since 100,000 + years, but Adam was chosen by God around 12000 years ago to be His first prophet. This is an adjustment to accommodate the un-deniable fact that Earth is billions of years old and life on it first appeared around 3.7 billion years ago. All the biblical religions could account for 12000 years, counting years from the progression of prophets from Adam to Mohammed. Out of these only 3- 5000 yrs can be termed as recorded history of certain civilizations rest is myth and legends.

It’s a raging battle between science and religion, where religion has to continuously evolve and change to keep up, how ironical.
There are now pro-creation scholars who have taken the stance that God guides evolution. Despite this the fact remains that Science, or rather a scientific attitude, is incompatible with religious belief. Science and religion are in irreconcilable conflict.

    “Now, dont tell me

    1. KMB is not visited by non Muslims”

    — Bhayya KMB is a piece of crap. Both muslims and non-muslims can dump their trash here. Read the above blog entries if you have any doubt. If you think that you are an intellectual, then don’t bother coming here again.

“Can u imagine the number of ALams who graduated from NED in 90s?”

    — NED produces some bright kids but mostly smart asses and only the latter would bother here. And no, i refused NED.

Now stop this BS and apnay apnay ghar jao.

ADNAN Do you know Carl Sagan? Have you seen his documentary the “COSMOS”? You must have seen “CONTACT” the movie. He is one of the pioneers of space exploration, the golden plaque carried by “Voyager-1” is designed by him also the SETI project. What kind of guy he is? I would like to know your opinion?

First go and talk about evolution with Dr. Israr Ahmed, I have seen you have mentioned him somewhere before.Though I dont subscribe to his interpretations, but I respect his efforts to do some form igtehaad /fikr to take religion forward.

By the way tell me then, how old the Earth is? and when did humans descended on it?
Go ahead, live in denial of evolution, if it were upto guys like you, the Earth would still be flat with Sun revolving around it.

  28. Pakistani Cricket Team HAI HAI (unregistered) on September 15th, 2007 @ 2:46 am

Reality Check, I have seen almost all of them including COSMOS but then I am not a celebrity worshipor that I just get agreed everything which is said by smoeone. Knowing your blind following of Altaf, I would notbe surprised to know that you would follow Segan blindly as well. The mentioned youtube movie was so lame that I initially got surprised it was presented by HIM.
My contact email is published, if you wana know what “I” believe about evolution, you can buzz me.

the last comment was made by me.

just do remember one thing. For me any such knowledge is worthless which can’t help someone to find his own creator. Hope you would be able to understand what kind of knowledge impress me rather big names.

if it were upto guys like you, the Earth would still be flat with Sun revolving around it

still better and harmless than MQM was in that era than the guy would have been killed by MQM goons to go against government. *grin*

  30. Reality_Check (unregistered) on September 15th, 2007 @ 5:56 am

Correction once again, I am not a follower of any body let alone blind, but I never loose touch with reality. If I choose to I can criticise Altaf much better than you guys w/o any name calling.

As for Carl Sagan, he is not a cult leader nor a celebrity. He was one of the foremost astronomers of our times, who perhaps for the first time presented science speacially astronomy in such a way that it could be understood by a layman. The link you have posted is part of one such documentary, I see nothing funny or absurd in it.

Dear I am not dependent on you to form my opinions, for that I have the option of going to gatherring of Nobel laureattes at the local University and get lectured to my heart’s content.

If you have anything to reply about the questions I raised you can post it publically, always remember earth is flat.

  31. Reality_Check (unregistered) on September 15th, 2007 @ 6:08 am

WHAT!! what have you posted! You are really loosing it! Your analogy is mind blowing not worth replying.

Knowledge is the search of truth not the Creator, if it leads you to a Creator good enough, but that objective cannot be pre-concieved. The people who broke the barriers of thought erected by pope’s, priests, kings and mullahs did so by following the same approach. From Coper Nicus to Einstein and from Ibn-e-Sina to Ibn-e-Khaldoon all used the same approach. They did not let any belief system obstruct their quest.

  32. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on September 15th, 2007 @ 3:20 pm

I advised/asked/requested/informed you and the other guy to discuss this off the site but seems you were more eager to say your stuff rather understanding whether this is the right place to discuss it OR maybe you have no idea about the maginitude of the content which is related with your questions(in which many of them i DID answer and none of them were commented back). How ever when you said:

Knowledge is the search of truth not the Creator

it sure gave me laugh. Don’t say it infront of any scientist as he would make so much fun of yours that you would prefer to hide yourself somewhere. Whatever the “truth” science has been trying to reveal is based on “Who,When, what and How” and Creator is the main part of it.

However,I must thank you to provoke me to write on subject which ihad been trying for long. In coming days, I am sure going to explain wat you and me have discussed or which I have discussed others in past few years. Use my space(the appropiate thread) and flow your knowledge as much as you can. I think MQM, who claims to be MOST organized party on earth didn’t leave such impact on you. Get back to me off the site via my email. Hope you would respect what I said, otherwise you’re free to say whatever you want but I am also free to ignore you right here.

ME, Ignorance? if I am requesting you NOT to screwup someone’e else platform so its ignorance? why were you unable to reply my questions about your Invisible analogy?

If you have your own space, make a topic there and let others to discuss there so that people could freely argue there,if it’s impossible for you then I am offering you my space to share whatever the stuff you want. Lecturing me for ethics and name calling others just declaring you a hypocrite. it’s not hurting anyone. I will invite you all so called science expert to use my platform to share your rants, let me experience how much you are stick with the theories which you have just *heard* somewhere.

    FIRSTLY,
IT IS ESSENTIAL FOR PEOPLE OF A CIVILIZED SOCIETY TO (RESPECT) EACH OTHER’S BELIEFS (WHETHER THOSE BELIEFS ARE RELIGIOUS OR NON-RELIGIOUS). IT’S IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT IDEAS AND BELIEFS ARE YOUR OWN CHOICE – SO IT’S POINTLESS ARGUING ABOUT SOMETHING WHICH IS A MATTER OF PERSONAL CHOICE. ALL THOSE PEOPLE PASSING INSULTS AT EACH OTHER, GROW UP!

    Secondly,
To the smart guy who made the following comment ….

“the day it’s PROVED evolution created everything, I will give you the answer of your question.”

I think you already answered your OWN question.
I’m not into the business of PROVING anything, because mankind doesn’t know the answer to anything; which is my point.

If any one person/sect/religion/group was RIGHT, then there would be do diversity in the World. Fact is (besides the universal truths e.g. murder, rape, slander etc) there is no right or wrong in the World, for everything is a matter of opinion or personal belief. Hence Mankind weaves stories to expalin what he cannot understand or does not know the answer to.

    PEACE TO ALL MANKIND.

I agree with Adnan (finally) , This is not the right Forum to discuss this. Although I must
say after Zia there is no Forum in Pakistan where you could indulge in such discussions. I am surprised that some of the posts were even allowed, thanks Umar.

This was a topic about Ramazan Poll, personally I do like Ramazan very much despite the public show of tempers and the mad rush to reach home before Iftar. Beinga non believer, I still fast and have fun cooking.

Its a good time to be in Karachi, Lahore or any other Muslim City like Cairo, Amman or Damascus. You miss it very much when you are abroad.
