SF to be made a ‘model’ road

Shahrah-e-Faisal will be declared a ‘model road‘ today. The promise of a smoother driving experience on SF is attractive, but can the traffic police deliver?

Perhaps time to look at Lahore Administration how things are really managed rather than these cosmetic steps

This is a positive sign, as long as they follow through and citizens are responsible, it can all work out. It is also up to us. I’m onboard!

Model road is not only a road where traffic flow is smooth. Some other mandatory properties are associated with model roads, like proper street lights, well developed foot-paths, zebra crossings and working signals. Nothing there at SF. Specially the evening time at Lal-Kothi Nursery corridor is real horrible where street lights never work.

Why only SF ? ! is it because that it serves the ONLY Commercial International Airport of Pakistan with twice the number of flights then Lahore & Islamabad Airports together… ! :)

Lahore has yet to MATCH the number of International Carriers movement of arriving & departing passengers. :)

    MB … smile ! Please !

    @ROGER DOGER!

    I befg to differ !
SF has the highest density of traffic than any other road in Karachi !!!
with all tat traffic it is impressive that the road is still preferred by people to travel

Interestingly, I’ve always figured someone from Karachi becoming aggressive in a KHI vs LHE debate and then making a fool of him/her own self.

With all my apologies, I must confess Karachi is THE largest, and an important city in Pakistan and we don’t argue on that. Abb khush??

MB this time you really did it, comparing Lahore with Karachi, what a joke. these cities simply cannot be compared.

1/ The rate of population increase – no comparision.

3/ Resource allocation – no comparison, Untill recently karachi rcvd just enough to pay off its sweepers. Whereas, The Big brothers have consistantly got 60% of all the resources of all the provinces and their resource i.e. Agriculture, 80% of our economy, is not federally taxable, so we see nothing of it.

4/ All the port traffic of pakistan passes through this city.

5/ This city was dumped with the greatest number of Aghan refugees and the problems they brought, whereas, mysteriously they missed Lahore. Poor Peshawar and Quetta also suffered a similar fate.

6/ Karachi is multilingual, multi race, Lahore is essentially monolithic.

    and the list goes on…..

Lahore always had tons of money at its disposal and there has been sustained investment in its infrastructure, whereas, Karachi after a long long long time has seen actual development money, thanks to Musharraf.
