Tastiest Samosas?

Im a great big fan of samosa’s, that too the allo ones! Till now, the tastiest samosas i’ve found have been from Dilpasand sweet mart near teen talwar and from Sohny Sweets near the KPT underpass. Which samosas do you find the tastiest and where do you get them?

Note: Mom’s samosas do not count!

Peshawari version of Samossas..No different :P
we have Lahori Sweet House ( though it’s been a while when we had Samoosas from that shop)
The Sweets Shop is in famous Qisa Khaawani Baaazaar Peshawar. You can also visit SRK’s Old House, It’s hadly 5-10 minutes walk from this shop.

Aur MOM kay Samossay does count.. :)

    Cheers

i have seen Dilpasand M.A Jinnah road’s kitchen behind Iqbal center(which was recently gutted by fire), the less said about it the better ..after witnessing the terrible sanitary conditions any one would simply puke out those tasty samosas

We have been getting samosas from BabaPak for the last 25+ years. Even though the size has been getting smaller every year, the taste is still the same. The best way to go for is to get unfried samosas in bulk quantity and fry them at home everyday. Since, its in no way feasible to go to that part of the city everyday. And besides, if I remember correctly, they usually don’t open during ramadhan.

United has a good Qeema/Fish/Chicken samosa too. I like dilpasands too..

United has amazing samosas but they’re huge and at times salty. still among the better ones. its babapak’s chtni thats’ o die for.

Well my mom is diabetics patient so I am dependent on dukan wallas for BaySin made products.

i didn’t know this Baba jan shop but would sure try after ramadan. :-)

what does UB mean here? United Bakery?

I wonder nobody mentioned Qeema samosay of “Enterprise” in State life building at IIC? Unfortunately it doesn’t exist anymore. *sigh*

    Nimco in Bohri Bazar!!

  17. Jamal Shamsi (unregistered) on September 22nd, 2007 @ 12:34 am

Babapak opens at 11.30 in ramzan for kacha samosa, and fried ones are avlbl after 3 PM.

    on other note:

did any one tried ARBI PARATHA (not arabic) it is available at FRESCO

On meatless it is Rs. 25 each and rest of the days it is Rs. 30 – Bring home and ‘WARM’ in the microwave and enjoy.

samosas’ would be 2 steps behind it !

  18. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on September 22nd, 2007 @ 12:39 am

i tried arabic paratha [as they claim]. A bit heavy though. Taste is just OK.

speaking of chat and chatni, i was told there is a place in karachi where I can find all kinds of Chaat masalas. Is it true? if yes then where is the location?

  19. Anathema (unregistered) on September 22nd, 2007 @ 12:48 am

my typo error. i meant UB = UBL
Enterprise was LIFE till it died a few months ago =( their french fries, their pulao biryani, their omellette double roti and their aloo and qeema samosas.

yep. we all lived on the good stuff.

@Adnan jodia bazar? all type of spice trader are located there

  21. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on September 22nd, 2007 @ 2:19 am

Enterprise was shutdown due to non-payment issues and other mess. My friend who works at UBL HO told me that.

BTW, UBL also means Usama Bin Laden so better people who refer the term mention the full name otherwise Americans could turn UBL sites to Tora bora. :-)

doctor saab. Thanks. mey tab tak yehi samjhta tha k jodia me sirf chemicals he biktay hain :D
