Organic fad arrives in Karachi?
This sabziwala used to have a push-cart but over the period of time, thanks to the incredible profits associated in the business of vegetable selling in Karachi, has upgraded to a permanent shop. The latest arrival at the shop is this green board that boasts ‘organic food’. I am not sure if the owner(s) of this outlet understand what organic is and what it is not but it seems like they will soon have another reason with them to sent the prices of the vegetables one notch up on this pretext.
Isn’t all the vegetables sold in Pak. are organic ? Thats what I thought.
I am sure about the milk and fruits are all organic as it tastes pretty good.
I agree.
Vegetable and fruit in pakistan taste the best. Fresh and pure.
PS I think the vendor might be referring to pesticide free produce.
Organic Food ? It was the Shanawaz (Shezans) who opened the first organic fruit farm in Pakistan . I wonder if our good ol’food inspector make a visit to such places claiming to sell – organic and charging more for it.
Could anyone provide me the address of the shop?

I think they mean the vegetables are not genetically engineered, which is true for most of the vegetables/fruit sold in PK, as opposed to the US etc. where these are two different classifications.
Something wrong with this pic, it stresses your eyes because of the blur, try reading the board and you will feel the effect.
This is amazing, please take a clear picture and submit to BBC asap. Thanks
