It is better to have closed down all TV Channels. Otherwise it would have led to a chaotic news rumour mill.

@Adnan: I had conversations on Ufone and sent messages (which were replied back). It may be slow but not blocked :)

I did a post in August about declaration of emergency and its constitutional implications (here)

I wonder what is the reason behind this rash decision.

It is rather interesting to see how the youth and the educated masses of our country react to this. I hope that this ‘state of emergency’ is temporary – but being a pessimist, I think that that is not the case – I hope this is proven wrong.

Electricity is gone. Not sure if its a fallout of emergency or plain old load-sheading :)

I am glad Mush took the right action. If stupid people like you want Bhuttos / Sharifs then it is better to have emergency.

dear authors and commentors , we should not curse Mushraf for the emergency or blocking the tv channels or restricting the freedom of press after all these principles are also being practise resularly on our very own KARACHI METRO BLOGGING from the last few weeks some people are also doing the same thing on KMB that if they dont like the comment of any one about there post or if some one disagrees with them than insted of defending there post and doing a healthy debate the author simply deletes the post , come on you KMBers hypocriates grow up , if you are doing the same thing than why curse Musharaf

so….GEO TV IS OFF…and so is ary …mush is just making it a bigger issue….he just wants to be elected again and he doesn’t want anyone to say anything against him. He only wants propaganda apraising him so he could get more votes…i say let freedom of press ring………its sad to see our leaders of the world seek so low.
