Aternate to Sh-e-Faisal?

Going through SF each morning, specially though the 4 KM patch from FTC to Metropole is a real nerve wrecker. But do we really have to do it each morning?

Inspired by Farrukh’s Lifehacking post, anyone have any good ideas to get from Gulshan to II Chundrigar other than taking SF?

In my next post, i’ll share two routes i’ve found, but lets have yours first.

You may Choose route from Gulshan to II Chundrigar via Jail Chowrangi then Mazar-e-Quaid then Plaza then Light house and finally II chundrigar road. I never choose this route because of heavy traffic but its an option.

Since Saddar market is closed during the morning commute hours, so reach Mazar-e-Quaid and then take Zebunnisa street to reach Club road and then to IIC.

oh haan yaar! why discussing about problems that average karachiite faces? Lets disgust about some war and killings or protests and arrests.
I find your post nontitallating and it doesnt fill my insatiable “political drama” appetite.

I don’t see why Gulshan people ‘have to’ use Drigh Road to go to McLeod Road.
Karachi probably has the best layout among major cities of the sub-continent. Drigh Road, University Road, Shahrah-e-Pakistan (Mansura and Lalokhet road), NN and NAzimabad Road are all almost parallel. Take any one. They all somewhat end up near Gurumandir / Soldier Bazar area…except Drigh Road. On the other side of Lyari River, one could take Lawrence Road, Jail Road, or Jamshed Road, or Jahangir Road, Garden Raod and eventually hit Bander Roada. Bander Road and Lawrence Road and Drigh Road are all parallel.
Wait a minute! which idiot allowed you to be an author on KMB. Burger pun choRo, aur khud nikal kar sheher ghoomo, amma kee chungalyaa chhoRo.

mansoor :) you are asking quiet a zig zag route.

Start from HOME at 8 AM, and u will find it way too easy & comfortable to use SF to arrive at work on Chundrigar by 8.40AM.

all else is useless and hacked by Motorbikes and Buses, with Prowlers (mini buses) around with dogs and cats honking on ear. bikes scratching ur side mirrors etc etc

JAMAL SHAMSI: Could not have said it better myself!

MANSOOR: Good post! But it seems that everyone is only talking about I.I. Chundrigar road while your post originally asked for alternative routes shara-e-faisal. Do tell us about the other routes. I find these posts to be a lot more Karachi related than political stuff!
