Definitely a Man on a Mission. Hats off to this guy and am sure that if he continues to proceed and excel in a way like he presently is. He should take karachi to new heights.

InshAllah.

I confess that I used to see karachi in a negative way quite sometime back, and hesitated when coming here. I currently am in karachi and I am extremely happy to see development going to a zenith and there sure is a long way to go.

Build up of Karachi is the greatest challange and contribution of MQM Guy, Mustafa Kamal.

May be becuase he lived in US during his exile period and watched the developed world closely.

Again he avoided litracy in Karachities by not spending for Science and Research Institutions, PHD projects funding, Permanent Development Board of CDGK (Comprising Rtd. Engineers/Doctors/Noteable Civilians)

I'm strong critic of MQM as they exploit and brought forward those youth who abondaned education, moral, ethical values and respect for opposition ppl and avoided Literate PPL to represent MQM in NA/PA.

Now this is what i call a servant of public and this man mustafa kamal sahab is not even ashamed of calling himself one hats off to him and a full round of applause n y not a standing ovation for him because he desreves it. I never even in my wildest of imagination thought that a nazim can do all this, and why , because history tells us that, to b more precise i as a karachite was a bit hopeless by seeing my city's poor state but not anymore and thanks to kamal sahab.i was watching this doccumentry about khi n kamal sahab was discussing the help line for civic problems n in the same days v were having this serage problem in our area my brother went to complain about this but as usual no response but whn i told him about the help line he wasnt also beleiving i told him to lets try that out n v did, the very next say concerned ppl were here n v were so happy n thanked allah the all mighty that its working .As a citizen of this country it felt so good that atleast this man realises his duties n before all this i was not concerned with any nazim n naib nazim and all but now im sure more ppl like him in the business v can really mean BUSINESS.so kamal sahab im sure v will inshallah c more of ur KAMALS in near future.May allah guide us all to b better human being inshallah.

Some things never change. Any other topic and we would have balma screaming that 'only' Karchi'ites pay taxes!.

A lot of ppl make a lot of valid points.

Personally im no fan of the current party in power, but i've always liked Mustafa "bhai". If for nothing else, the sheer comic value he brings to the conversation.

Having said that, as a resident of the city it does not matter to me who the person incharge is as long as he or she get the job "done". Im sure its the same for most sane ppl around.

Ive been hearing all my life that when out of power, the current establishment does not let any progress happen. I've heard it even from party workers (They call the current process 'streamlined' - in other words, pay us the money and u can do w/e u want, for we have all the power).

We can also be cynical and say that its all talk and that w/e little work gets done is half assed and ends up costing envoirmentally, financially and most importantly with human life. (the caving/over-flowing underpasses, the collapsing bridges and whoever the idiot was that installed that fountain in the middle of one of the most polluted sea!). But the fact remains that visible changes have occured over the past 3/4 years.

For a city of Karachi's size and importance they might not be enough but we have to put things into prespective. Its a city that has been neglected for most part of 60 years. Even today the traffic situation is so bad as growth has continued at rapid rates but the infrastructure in place is still that built for horse-carts!.

It will take decades for things to get 'better' and if Mustafa "bhai" is able to take us there - hell! put some diamonds on that crown!.

Too bad he'll never be able to convince us about his intentions:
a) because of his party
b) because the majority of his actions are fundementally wrong. They might sound good on a youtube video with a spin-doctor doing a voice over, but once you think about it it wont make sense. (eg the sale of the coastal areas, the 'speedway' project. Flaws in bridges and other projects that had been pointed out even when they were being planned etc etc).

"If i want my mohalla to be clean i have to do it my self not wait for Mustafa Kamal to come for my rescue"

Not really. You live in a city not village. City council is responsible for any outside work. People pay taxes don't they?
