Wait a minute Shamsi, we are talking about expansion and junglipun in Karachi. What does it have to do with your claim that population is growing faster somewhere else. In fact if you are right, that is even more of a concern for Karachi. Where do you think all these bhookay nangay Pakistanis will end up when tain ride in 3rd class is free? In Karachi to add to the existing bhookay nangay people already in Karachi.

I am anxiously waiting for senior citizen Shamsi to spill the beens.

A mistake???
Shamsi, you never make less than a couple of mistakes:-)

First, it is north, not south.

Second, to be honest, our people are such jahil jutts that we do need some order, some development, some commercialization of the beaches…. I really hate to see people acting like junkies on our beaches. We need to bring some order instead of chaos to the beaches.

And, your biggest mistake of all is that you didn’t say a word on controlling explosive junglee style population growth rate in Karachi.

destroy the beaches, destroy the eco life, ban the access of common people to beaches –

Mr. Nazim wake up live & let live, wake-up, expand laterally towards SOUTH stay low Ground Plus 4 with basement for vehicle parking, get the towns planned between KHI & HYD

let beaches be open for commoners, take 1st step to keep beaches clean then consider erecting Concrete towers,

not bad? what?! this scheme means bye bye beach. just because the nazim is saying it’s going to be beautiful or whatever doesn’t mean it is. of course some private developer (emaar) is benefiting. nobody else is. Karachi certainly isn’t. anyone who thinks it is, is stupid.

I bet you that there is a private developer making money on this. I dont want the ugly development that embodies cement dinasaurs etc. I want people like Arif Hassan involved in the development of the city.

i dont want to sound like a typical anti-development wackjob but i would like to see picnic beaches such as hawksbay, sandspit, french beach and mubarak village remain as they are i.e. untouched by civilisation where people can go to escape from the big, bad city. if areas close to picnic beaches are allowed to become abode of the awam, the i am afraid awam will turn these beaches into copies urdu medium localities like karimabad, hyderi or paposh-nagar. there are plenty of areas away from beaches that can be developed such as area between karachi and hyderabad. awam can live there and leave beach areas for people who know how to value good things in life. it would be particularly appaling if awam discovers mubarak village which is one of my favourite places on earth. i cant bear the thought of this location turning into another clifton sea front which would have been a goldmine if it had been developed properly. if karachi is to develop, then awam must not be allowed to turn the city into a bigger version of azizabad.
