Arena on Karsaz

I noticed a new entertainment area on Karsaz Road by the name of Arena. Among other things I have heard they offer ice-skating and bowling. Did anyone get a chance to go there? Care to review the place for us?

I was wondering why noones done a review yet… :)

Yeah, I got a chance to go toward the end of November. Back then, they just had the ice skating, bowling, restaurant and gaming zone active. Its really nice and a very good place to enjoy some quality time. The ice skating rink is a bit small by
internatinal standards. But hey, I’m not complaining. Good initiative by whoever the proprietor is. One more place for Karachiites to go and visit. I’d recommend it to anyone… :)

Its the same group that built Area-51 in Karachi. At Arena, they have I think two restaurants, a 12 lane or more bowling alley (two sections), an ice skating rink, banquet halls, rock wall climbing, mini golf course, and paint ball gun range …

I went there when the place had not opened yet … still have to go and see how it all finally came out.

But I think its a good place to go.

all facilities expect ice skatin are open to the public. To access the rink one needs to become a member which costs Rs.25,000/- per year per person. Membership has advantages of discounts and blah blah blah…

Last night went there. Above ppl hav talked abt things that generally become known by word of mouth. I’d like to add that some of activities r yet to open such as Mini Golf, Paint Ball, Rock Climb, Pool Mania and Buffet. U can’t carry camera to snap a few good moments. Thats the worst thing. Ice Rink is accessible by general public till 31st Jan; membership not required. They’ll hav to keep it extending that way till they hav sufficient crowd as members. Its a pleasant spot to eat too. Prices are reasonable almost as McDonalds/KFC. Museum adjacent is at a lovely view. One can add going to Museum when visiting Arena. Museum has a lot to offer educationally for children and elders alike. Submarine being the latest addition. An Atlantique aircraft, a old Mine Sweeper ship, light house, and the main hall are good attractions for visitors for those not in the Navy especially. Comaparable to PAF Museum by any standard.

Arena is operated by ppl that run Area 51

Also u guyz r all exited abt Ice-Skating…but has anyone of u guyz hav done any ice skating like EVER…its not ur regular roller skating…its very hard and very dangerous

  24. bluemax (unregistered) on January 12th, 2008 @ 4:33 pm

@shlazz, it may be hard but I dont think it is dangerous. Rather ppl should challenge themselves and take a shot at it (at least once). Skiing looks even more dangerous but it is not. Minor injuries such as twisted ankle, muscle pull, etc are part of sports even cricket (our national pastime) and hockey (our national game).

I went to Arena on Monday, 14-01-08. I enjoyed every bit of that place, although most of the activites are yet to open. The interior and the atmosphere is great and cleanliness is highly taken care of. The best part is the ice skating rink which has opened here in Karachi for the first time and is attracting alot of people. The snacks were superb. During the weekdays it is ofcourse less crowded and more enjoyable. Cameras SHOULD be allowed inside to capture all the fun! Keep it uP
