Coming out of a coma – Karachi breathes yet again!

The city started coming back to life five days after the assassination of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson, Benazir Bhutto on December 27. Major shopping and commercial centres reopened for business on Tuesday, while traffic also picked up pace on the city roads. With the resumption of public transport, attendance at private and public offices was also restored.

Yeap, this is the beauty of Karachi. Despite having some great and so many incidents and disasters, it can always live up again. So much depth and patience this city has. God Bless Karachi and Pakistan

I see it as a necessity to survive rather than as beauty. I mean after all, what are the options? Let us call a donkey by its name.

    @ Original Doctor,

If possible, could you tell us about your political affiliation? I mean which party you support and why? I am curious.

  10. MS (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 10:18 pm

    @ Mansoor,

IMHO, You should start moderating the comments which are not related to the post but don’t become like other hypocrite authors on this forum who preach democracy but on the other hand moderate the comments that don’t suit them or go against their political affiliations.

  11. d0ct0r (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 10:49 pm

@MS is it a prerequisite for every one to be politically affiliated to comment here on KMB?

  12. d0ct0r (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 11:00 pm

    @ Doctor,

Nope, not @ all; I am sure that I have not implied otherwise in my question to you. Did I? It is perfectly fine if you don’t want to answer the question that I asked but try not to take the discussion to south every time.

The only reason I am curious to know your political affiliation is to compare those guys with MQM and see how you fair out.

You seem to be thread-crapping most of the posts on this forum with anti-MQM comments/links (which is fine in the sense of having a personal opinion which you are 100% entitled to) but there are some rules (implied or stated otherwise in the Terms and Conditions) when it comes to posting on these forums; one of the rule of the thumbs is “Keep the discussion to what is being discussed”.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

  14. d0ct0r (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 11:30 pm

@MS i have never strayed away from whatever thats being discussed you also seem to be mixing me up with impersonators .. to date am an undecided voter

you also seem to deviating away from the topic being discussed by discussing me and my political beliefs ..

  15. what_you_do_comes_back_to_you (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 11:35 pm

MS, congratulation (in advance) … you’ll now have the honor of being including in the copy/paste text of Doctor (patent pending I guess). The latest piece will be

    “@MS Jameel Pkhan/SirJee/AK/watani/Rajiv Parikh/Ali K/VOICE OF PAKISTAN/Barrister Ali K.Chishti/Ali/Jameel/xia/reality_check/Raza/softjoint/zee/imran/balma
and all the other multiple nicks and clones that love using”

  16. MS (unregistered) on January 2nd, 2008 @ 11:45 pm

    @ Doctor,

May be not this post but you did bring MQM related stuff in other posts though!

According to you, so far you have been undecided, whic is fine I guess but why this hate against MQM? did you suffer by these guys or what? or is this hate just based on the ethnic background?

I agree with you when you say that my comments on this post are off-topic but I did not have a choice; what other means do I have @ my disposal to have a discussion with you? :) Let me know my other options for contacting you and I will be glad to use those options instead of posting here.

    @Mansoor,

Please clean up the off-topic comments if you feel like. Thx.

Reading the post on the main page brought a smile to my face. That soon disappeared when the click loaded.

@ the real doc—which-ever one of you that is–

a)Agree with your sentiments, but why do you have to bring it to every post?

    b) If infact its an effort to dis-credit your name, they are doing a good job.

    c) How are you so sure that all the copy/pasted names are one and the same person. Last I checked you are not a mod and hence cannot tell if its the same ip.

    d) Have you tried referring your problem to one of the mods? If you can verify the abuse it should work towards restoring your credibility.

& sorry if I sounded harsh.

    —-
@ ppl copying others nics. Get a life & do something productive with it.

As the first two ppl said. For better or worse the people of karachi have become immune to violence, tragedies and the aftermaths’.

Life & time move on, its better if we do the same.

I for one celebrated the return to “normality” by getting back to routine & watching ‘Stardust’, highly recomended.
