Quaid-e-Jamhoriat Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Town

just how much more can a person take?!

The Gadap Town Council adopted a unanimous resolution Thursday to change the town’s name to Quaid-e-Jamhoriat Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Town.

Go figure! I wonder what genius planted that idea in their heads! What? they think they’re gonna get funding being named after the most corrupt of the political leaders?

“During her years as prime minister, Pakistan went backward, not forward. Her husband looted shamelessly and ended up fleeing the country, pursued by the courts. The Islamist threat – which she artfully played both ways – spread like cancer.” (Source: NYTimes)

I pray this will not be the future of this town as well.

The person responsible of a GOOD Percentage of our misries is being called Quaid-e-Jumhuriat.

Bhai boht khuub, boht aalaa!! We deserve our misery and the leaders who loot, plunder, puke and than move to DUBAI LONDON or USA.

My warmest congratulations to people of GADAP for such an intelligent move.

We are a nation that pays trubute to looters, thieves, terrorist & incompetent people.

While Dr. Abdul Salam’s sould may be either laughign or crying at this , he might just be regreting for dedicating his life to an unthankful nation.

Now i understood why the people of LIYARI have been electing PPP for last 35 years. They actually love their poverty probably, love the absense of infrastructure & dont want to progress at all (comparitively), although the rest of CITY isnt different.

If anyone wants to pay tribute do so to the EDHI guy who died saving lives on May12 you dumb ass people.

Quite mouthful, isn’t it? A resident will be tongue-twisted to tell where does s/he lives:
    Quaid-e-Jamhoriat Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Town

Thank goodness they have not decided to add the surfix of “rahamatullah alay” of Bhutto’s name. Well done Gadap (minus ‘p’) Town.

    @ Mansoor,

You have quoted the NY Post, not the NY Times. Please change the source. The NY Times is a very respectable newspaper widely around the world. Attributing such a comment to the NY Times is an insult.

On the other hand, NY Post is just a trashy conservative rag.

Good post Mansoor. This really is sad. Not much more to say, pretty much MB said everything I was thinking.

Why cant we take Altaf, BB’s memories, Nawaz, D0CT0R, and the whole MMA, and send them to the states? or hell ? or the moon ? …retarded

@JAY: but before that, we have to kill altaf, Nawaz and mma idiots. :)

By now, I have become predictable. Everyone will know what is my reasoning for such retard acts like Gadap’s new name…… or do you folks really want me to get started again…?

  14. Adnan Siddiqi (unregistered) on January 4th, 2008 @ 9:16 pm

if people of that are happy to change name then why does it irk someone or YOU? I know you as a dictator’s supporter don’t believe in democracy or voting thing but give those guys a break. If they are happy to rename something then who are we?

Also, if Bai Altaf’s militants can change name of Nazimabad No 1 patrol pump’s park as ZEESHAN AFZAL SHAHEED PARK or a park could be named as “IFZA ALTAF PARK” then why can’t BB’s supporters change name of the town?

corruption aside, you must atleast acknowledge that she was the one who started the privatisation of IPP’s ,14 ot of 19 licenses were given under her period.
Had those IPP not been there you would have atleast 12 hrs loadshedding a day.
What has musharraf done to remove loadshedding?

*leader should live like a normal people.

    *****
Normal people in Pakistan are dishonest, lazy, and uneducated. Figures, why we have the leaders like we have in Paksitan.
    Thanks for solving this mystery.

Off course, BB was no better than Altaf Hussain or Chaudary Shujaat Hussain. In fact, she was worse. Before arriving in Pakisan she told the world media that she would allow Americans to fight inside Pakistan to kill Mr. Bin Laden.

Well, this clearly means she was in a mood to destroy integrity of Pakistan once and for all.

    Why cry for her?

  23. TURAB (unregistered) on January 5th, 2008 @ 2:43 am

Whaat a jumhooriat ? Bhutto clan still is the leader as per the will and not as per the democratic system. Its sad the way she died but for the love of God refresh your short term memories!!!

First of all, froim ur name, u look like Arab not Pakistani. I am not sure what u r doing here

Second, Osama mofo should be killed no matter who kills him. If the incompetent and corrupt Pak Army canot do this, I would say bring Indian, Iranina, American and even Afghan foji, and kill this ahole ASAP. I am kinda tired of this big ummah talk

Looking at the mentality of our whole nation I just like to say..
Inna lillahi Wa Inna Iaihee Rajion.

It seems pointless and useless to blame BB or other politicans.

All I can do on my part is pray to Allah

O’ Allah, We seek forgiveness from the misdeeds that we know of and from the misdeeds that we don’t know of.

We are harvesting what we sowed, forgive us of our sins.

O’ Allah clean our hearts and let us see things the way they are.

O’ Allah don’t let us go astray and let us have peace and tranquility which you shower on the people you love, Ameeen.

You all have really hit the nail on the head but the problem is that Pakistani’s dont see all this or we may have short memory, we have all forgotten what Bhutto and her husband did when they were in power, the literally raped Pakistan and yet we all cannot see it, what a shame….
Although its sad that she died, in fact they should all (Bhutto, Nawaz etc) have been tried in court for destroying Pakistan, why cant we see that these people are not sincere and they will never be good for Pakistan…
I think it all comes down to education…we need to educate our people so they can see the difference between right and wrong..
