Lets's be clear here, people who visit blogs and surf the internet mostly belong to the segment of the society which in the past has rarely bothered to vote or participate in the political process, whereas, there are other population centres where you will have to wait hours inline to cast your vote and those people dont blog. In this context if 24% blog visitors say that they will vote, then I will consider that as a high percentage.

I agree with Centurion. A feudal mindset and democracy can't coexist. Aside from that, people have no trust in their leaders and most have no loyalty to their country. I won't blame them, and I shamelessly confess that I myself the latter. Instead, in Pakistan's case, a strong but >*fair*I agree with Centurion.
Yor interpretation of the poll result is erraneous. We have only said that we are not going to vote in the forthcoming elections. We did not say we did not want democracy or that we are not going to strive for the democracy. We are not going to vote to show that these elections are sham. These elctions are not being held to restore democracy in the country. They are being held to legitimize the illegal rule of Mushrraf. Can't we see the game Mushrraf is playing since 03 Nov 07 when he imposed emergency in the country to perpetuate his rule.

If they don't want to vote ; they don't have any right to comment about policies, functioning and state of affairs of Pakistan.

In Australia - there's a law which retricts everyone to vote - or there's a fine of AUS 5000 or a 2-3 months community service. Pakistan should introduce a similar law.
