PPP, MMA, MQM, ANP, PML,N,F,Q etc., Kya aap samajhte hain k ye sub jamatain kisi tarha se aap k vote ki haqdaar hain?? Jabke LOOTMAAR, QATLOGHARAT, BHATTAKHORI, DEHSHATGARDI, STREETCRIME, Or najaane kiya kiya , Yehi sub kuch diya hai inho ne pakistan ko pichle 15-20 saalon me. VOTE ZAROOR DAIN, MAGAR KISI TANZEEM KO HARGIS NAHIN, baishak apne haath se cancel kar dain ya kisi azaad umeedwaar ko de dain, magar KHUDA KE LIYE IN TANZEEMO KO RUD KAR DAIN,. Fwd this to as many, for, Pakistan badly needs a change.

If i am not wrong. Whatever you said about is right Mr. Chisti (on that commercial aspect) but with due respect. Dont you think he has DONE trillion times more good for Pakistan by at least making it stand in Artist community in the world.

Compare him with our leadership and tell me if you still hold you old view. I have yet to find a single good thin our leadership has done for whom we are ALL-OKAY with if any such program is held for them (starting off with ZAB & now BB & then we have ZIA-ul haq and all that crap)

Dont be so conservative in honoring people. The Australians had a full song (correct me if i am wrong) for SHANE WARNE when he was on top.

I dont want to sound too ‘clinical’ either but I think you’ve gotten your knickers in all kinds of twists here. An artist is an important member of any society and a member who catalogues the emotions of that society. So what if he makes money doing it, does that make his art any less worthy? No, not at all. Gulgee has made immense cultural contributions and enriched society at large and he got rich doing it, great.

Now Mr. Chishti its fair for you to not agree with me nor is it a neccessity for you to respect art in general but don’t pretend as though you do. I’m sure you ‘knows’ the family but you don’t have any respect for an artist like Gulgee or for art in general and therefore for you to pretend that you are somehow an art afficianado because of your ability to rubbish ‘commercial’ artists is just sad.

nonsense, we have an abundance of talented artists in pakistan, it is just that no one knows about them. i respect gulgee, but he was no saddequain and i would give most bus painters more respect than i would gulgee. it’s a matter of opinion though.

You just did dis-credited him for what he was. If he was selling his art it wasn’t like he was stealing from the nation, he was actually giving us back something, he was promoting our culture, our art, the texture and colors of this region. Besides he was the senior most artist of this country, he was a tutor, he helped and taught and explained any one and everyone who visited his gallery, and there wasn’t a ticket to watch, learn or enjoy his art. I respect him for this, for his services and for what he has given back to the society.

I hope we realize this as a society.

I don’t want to sound too clinical but what’s the point in ‘wasting’ time on people who left us? I mean Guljee was an
artist, he made money by selling his art , his wife invested the money and his son enjoying the rewards ; point is : what is Gulje’s contribution to Pakistan? I am his fan, knows the family – in and out; I don’t want to dis-credit him but (with due respect to the dead) the bugger was purely a commercial artist who made money from art ( there’s nothing wrong in it) . Sometimes, we in land de’pure make god’s out of people – just because he/she comes on television.
Emotional Fools? No Doubt!!!!
