My mother sings this poem everytime I start whining about how much difficult it is to overcome injustice in Pakistan, whether it be our shredded system of education (preferences to students who flatter the teachers all the time) or some other problems I encounter everyday. It is supposed to motivate in whatever you are trying to do in life. I'll give you a major part of the poem. It goes like this :-
"Jab Himmat ki joulani hai
to pathar bhi phir pani hai
phir tujh ko kia hairani hai
kar dal jo dil mai thani hai
phir bandh kamar kia darta hai
phir dekh khuda kia karta hai..."
Translation :-
"When the flame of determination rises
Then even stone(hard) is water(soft/easy etc.)
Then why do you keep wondering
Just do it(What your heart has decided)
then brace yourself and don't be afraid
and you will see how Allah will help you"

It goes on further saying that just sitting down demotivated will never help you.
I was just shocked to see how prejudice against Muslims/Pakistanis/Arabs... fuels our minds to think that this might have been written to promote "TERRORISM" or "JIHAD" (which most people thimk are synonymous words while in reality Jihad is enitrely different). In reality this is a positive motivator.

may be it is just words of encouragement for those who have lost faith... i don't think one needs an ulterior motive to spread encouragements...
i think someone just wants people to do their part (vote)!

I think you mean poori qaum burger ho gayee hae....I agree!
I notice people in Pakistan now purposely speak bad Urdu so others would think they don't know Urdu....how shameful will it be to be caught speaking Urdu at Intercontinental Hotel in Karachi!!!

I guess India is worse. I saw Javed Akhtar in some show where his thank you speech on receiving some award for writing Urdu songs in Indian movies was, guess what, in English...this from the man who writes Urdu songs and poetry for living. JAved Akhtar, paisay kamaanay kay liaye to Urdu istemaal kartay hoe, laikin bhaashans angrazi may daitay hoe. At least, his father Jaan-nisaar Akhtar was better ... baRay mia'n buRhaapay mae bhee aisay lehek lehek kar, with tarrannum - ghazlai'n paRhaa kartay thay:-)

Bhayyaa, desis are the biggest baighairats around.

Listen to this joke

Fazlur-Rehman has claimed that because of security reasons he will not hold public rallies. Instead he would just do 'telephonic khitab'...
Who would want to kill Fazlu? may be a bad-taste-mosquito???
He should rather apply mosquito-repellent and he would be safe.
