This National Song mania was started by Zia-ul-Haque propaganda machine, who sired one song after another and at times it looked like the whole country was running on songs, nothing positive was happening. Nations around the world stick to one or two, National Anthem being the primary one, by the way how many of us know the anthem by heart?

For me when it comes to patriotic songs, there shouldn't be a deliberate attempt to churn them out in numbers for propaganda or election campaigns. The songs we remember are those which are written in a moment of inspiration, complimented by skilful composition and heart warming rendition. So if a bunch of artists get inspired and come up with something that you can relate to, then enjoy it, please don't give this task to the politicians.

Boy that is a very intellectual topic now.

Let's see, hmmm, surprisingly Pakistan is not up for election, but rather it's political parties are. So I guess we could leave out the national songs.

But on the other hand why not play them. Who gives a damn?

Personally I would love if they blared out Rihanna instead.
