Dangerous Ride

http://karachi.metblogs.com/archives/images/2008/02/rkmb08-thumb.jpgI don’t have words to explain this, I mean do I need to say how dangerous and irresponsible this is, and when I spotted this and asked the occupants of this Rickshaw to make the kid sit-up straight, I was only greeted with some harsh and abusive words.

Like India blames everything on ISI, many on this blog tend to blame Musharraf & MQM, TALIBAN, MULLAH, etc etc – :)

It is quite frustrating, isn’t it. People just wont listen to you here no matter what the consequences might be. At a number of occasions I have myself tried to tell people If something as dangerous as this is happening. But there seems to be no use.

Why does election time give people license to drive crazy? Its always a bike with a stupid flag or a car with another stupid flag passing red lights like they don’t exist. With giant flags on the front, probably blocking their view partially.

And now its perfectly okay to have flags and banners in front of major signals. Red green and black walay and white walay are the worst culprits according to my personal experience.

Its also now okay to do bhangra in the middle of heavy traffic.

This is only the tip of the iceberg.

I know that these are our people, our neighbours if not our brothers. Party leaders should educate these people rather than encourage.

@ Jamal – Why pick on India? Everything that happens in Pakistan is blamed on "foreign hands". One should always look at ones own house before pointing a finger else where. Comparatively to India, we are but an insignificant speck now.

At one side it’s right to say that these people have no value to their own lives, yet at the other side it makes more sense to say that these people are reduced to this because of a lack of proper transportation system and since personal vehicles are becoming near unaffordable for many.

Little uncomfomfortable but child seems fine between the two air bags.
Rickshaws are vulnerable (weak body) ride unless you are off for adventure like a bike ride and a voilation to noise reduction in environment and on top of that a diesal smoke inhalation risk if its not CNG.

    Ban rickshaws find alternative!
    Spread awareness not poverty
