Karachi University teacher severly beaten up by Rangers

Dr Riaz — a professor at the University of Karachi (KU) — was severely beaten up an hour ago by Rangers personnel at KU.

There was tension throughout the day at Karachi University and all the gates were locked. By 05:00 p.m. Dr Riaz decided to leave for home. He reached the main (silver jubilee) gate of the university, and told the Rangers personnel there to open the gate so that he may leave. He’s a teacher and has the right to get gates opened. The Rangers personnel got abusive, pulled Dr Riaz out of the car, and started beating him up with the butts of their rifles and sticks. They kicked him with their boots as well.

It is sad that such treatment has been metted out to a faculty member, we sincerely condemn this action and hope that a proper inquiry is conducted to bring these guilty to task

Look this is how we respect our teacher. Treating them like that and then expecting that the country will become prosperous makes everyone feel pity. I myself have seen such a behaviour by several students in my University. Now as I am currently in UK, I feel much of a difference compared to Pakistan. If you want to sense what education is, and how important teacher is, see it here in West. The respect the give to teachers is worthwhile. Teachers are the most respectful persons here, though they have a very friendly relationship with students. One of the reason for the growth of these countries are that they respect their teachers and know what education is all about.
Talking about Police/Rangers, they are stupid and idiots. In Pakistan, we feel uncomfortable if we see any policeman or any ranger personal, but here they give you a feel of security. Everyone, from a store keeper to a president is enjoying the benefits of the power he was to press person with less power.
To be honest, I am not optimistic about Pakistan anymore. I know that this is not good but this is the only fact we have.

That is so much injustice , a teacher beaten up , its like living in a society where the law enforcing agencies just do what ever they feel like , if they are the rangers they should not treat civilians like as if they are some Gundaz or bhais from some indian movies , they should be more polite especially to the staff of KU, that is what I have to say..

So KMB is shut down for a while or is it April fool prank ?? If it is a joke then it is not in a good taste to blame all authors and if it is the truth then all authors should go and commit suicide.

Let us see how MQM (APMSO) & JAMAI ISLAMI (JAMIAT) act on it, I’d have
taken buses load of students to Rangers HQ and stayed there till apologised by the people concern and the DG himself.

[…] blog. What became a genuine concern a few hours into the prank was when some of our readers started using other posts for communicating their April fools theory, we had to scramble and plug these loops […]
