Whys is it always that the person is always either a friend, or a friend of a friend, nadir dont take me wrong but i also live in the same city and you have no reason to go to the PS with the cops unless you have something to hide (like maybe the guy was with his GF or somthing at 10.30).
We heard a lot of stories a few days back "A friend of my frind was hijacked and asked to ram his car for a cause".... but the interesting point is, it always happend to someones friends or neighbours or friend of a friend.

<i>c) Police does not have the right to check anyone’s ID (according to the Pakistani Constitution); it’s only the FIA which could go into details of someone’s ID.

dear barrister sab have you ever received a credit card by courier(any)of yourself or a house inmate...?no because the courier guys never hands you the envelop until you show your ID card.</i>

My friend...

I was to write exactly what I heard... that is why the post starts with the quotation mark.

The hitches are those specific details which I skipped in order to make the post to not point to someone. If you observe, if I add things like, names of places, people, time, exact quotes about who said what and when, the dialog, getups, registration numbers etc, all would make much more sense.

Plus why would I make-up a story? what good is it gonna do to me? The person who actually underwent such an event does not need sympathy or recognition neither do i, nor does anyone else is intended to be targeted or accused of any acts.

So the only thing left is the conclusion, if you focus on it, I think there isn't any need for the story to be real or fictitious its the moral of the story that matters.

(PS. I'm not into story writing, but id consider your recommendations) :)

Mate, I don’t have any personal grudges against you nor I disqualify the spirit of your story – all I pointed was the fiction and drama attached to it. It’s either over exaggerated or complete fiction.

a)	Could you explain the rationale behind the ‘deliberate hitches’ or imperfections?

b)	It started as a narration then there’s a concept attached to it

Anyhow, keep it up!!!!

(PS. Sydney Sheldon & Stephan King? you don’t know them? Read them would improve your creative writing)

It brings a smile to my face :)

Barister Sahab, could you please go back up and read the portion after the "story". Just a few things I mentioned.

- It is not to comment on the ‘corrupt nature of the law’
- The concept is, One never forgets who he is, but most often forgets how he can prove to be who he really is.
- I always emphasize on focusing on one’s own personality circle with a centripetal manner not a centrifugal manner.

You say...<i>"As a criminal lawyer myself I had been seen..."</i>

Looks like you have missed the core of the post. Being a criminal lawyer, is it a true that you missed the most important things of the matter under discussion? (No offenses)

I really don't care if you buy the story of not, I'm really not here to 'prove' anything. I knew what is to come up after I make the post. That is why I made my conclusions very clear. And the hitches you find, my friend, in the "story" are kept there for a reason, deliberately... Being inspired by "Sydney Sheldon" or Stephen King", don't you think that I know What I'm missing? [I really don't know who there people are -btw :)]

Cheers!

@ Barrister Ali K Chishti.

its good that you are a criminal lawyer and you know people, coz you really live in your own world!! what rights are you talking about Sindh Police have every right to violate the person they bring in the THANA, untill the person brings in any lawyer or some from law enforcement agencies from his contacts.

<i>a) SHO(s) are never present in-station at 11:00-11:30pm</i>
i have seen SHO Bahadurbad in PS at 2am.

and you know if you tell them that they dont have right to check your ID they will slap you and say "tu hum ko kanooon sikhaye ga" ;)

Rahil Iqbal

@ Doctor,
Mate, I not trying to defend our police; it’s bad and messed up. I commented on the nature of the ‘story’ published by the author of this post and what I am pointing to is at this unnecessary bashing embellishment and exaggeration of violence and corruption of our police – which at most cases is a pure ‘myth’.

Some point,

i)	If police ever grabs you and take you down to a police station – you are within your legal rights to ask for the copy of the report / FIR lodged against you. It’s always good to keep a lawyers cell phone number or a contact number with you.

ii)	In most cases corrupt and dishonest police men would show you the copy of a FIR which is ‘un-named’ or filed against an anonymous person – at this case you should call you lawyer immediately – plus the SHO of the station does not have a legal right to held you without charges for more then six hours.

iii)	It’s always good to have a driving license (a valid and original) all the time; I understand we all have connections but going by the records our connections usually fails when we need them. So why take the risk? Secondly, one should know that if you kill someone on the road and you don’t have a driving license – a case of 302 PPC (murder) will registered against you.

iv)	If in defense you kill someone – it’s always good to push his or her body against towards you (so that the persons head is pointing towards the position you were when you fired the shot) – to make a good defense and to show it to the police that the person was an assailant. (Usually most of the mobile snatchers dacoits and robbers are killed in defense).

I understand that we are not living in a perfect society – the system helps the rich and is discriminating and like it or not we have to live with it.
Regards,
Barrister Ali K.Chishti.

Well, I do not want to comment on the story or rebuttal or counter rebuttal of it. However going by the record and experience I would say that those traveling on foot and or on motorcycles are the most vulnerable species in Defense/Clifton/Bath Island neighborhood. I never saw any AFR 2005/2006/2007/2008 MPV being ever stopped by the law enforcement agencies. However sight of poor motorcyclists being stopped and being abused PHYSICALLY near the traffic signal is a common sight. I wonder how can even argue about their constitutional rights as currently this country is led on the basis of "leadership by example"!
