You've got a nice idea coming there but why do you have to blame everything on MQM? Seriously, kya PPP, ANP, Jamaat-e-Islami doodh mein dhul ke baithe hain?

After winning the 18th Feb elections, a PPP motorcade killed quite a few in Garden. Jammat-e-Islami terrorists opened fire on Sir Syed University from the bridge overlooking it. All three were involved heavily in the carnage on May 12 in which MQM suffered the most losses. Half of the casualties belonged to MQM. Aaj TV showed you MQM people firing at their building but they failed to show you that the MQM rally at Gurumandir was attacked by the PPP activists. Sherry Rehman was present in her car on the spot with Naveed Qamar in the backseat!

Don't blame just MQM. Blame everyone!

@ doctor

if there is any problem at your home, MQM is responsible. Are you in your sense, you need really to see a good mechanic who can fix your screws, no doctor can do it.

Do you really think that if a mass transit system like the one above is applied to the city, people are going to give up their cars and travel on it?

obviously they won't, govt should take steps to discourage them using their own personal car*,but before taking any such step govt should introduce a decent public transport system which every one can rely on,currently you can’t expect businessman/corporate mangers/seth sahibs etc to travel in shabby world war II bedford buses.. get some luxury buses charge them 30~50 rs (they can easily afford even more) .. similarly general public should also get some decent affordable mode of
transportation, poor karachiites don’t deserve to commute on rooftops of buses .. to discourage people using their private cars, give people alternate mode of transport and then impose heavy citycenter tax on traffic entering city center during rush hours, govt should stop subsidizing petrol prices and should work out a mechanism that only transport sector(goods transport trucks/public transport/loading trucks/busses/coaches) are able to avail subsidy on diesel whereas diesel cars and SUVs pay the unsubsidized price.. Billions of Rs that would be saved by not subsidizing petroleum prices should be spent on improving the public transport system/light rail system/A/C cng buses etc,and subsidizing their fares so that general public could afford them..

Do you really think that if a mass transit system like the one above is applied to the city, people are going to give up their cars and travel on it? One who can not afford a car will certainly find it very useful and convenient but the rest won't give up the luxury and ease of owning a car.

Definately Karachi needs bold actions, no doubt about it. The important thing is that beside the political will we think it as a Karachitee and dont bring the ethnic colour in it, otherwise any step would be stopped in the beginning.

Totally agree with you on this one... who was stupid enough to design a 20 times larger heavier machine to move around a small thing like human.. it not only wastes space, it also consumes more energy...

i was watching a show lastnight about future cars... and some corvette designer was talking abt 'the skate board car'.. which will be skinny, lighter and will run without gasoline... you would be able to drive from any seat and be able to switch aroundseats...

pretty cool stuff .. i hope i see before i die..
