Comments on: SF can’t take it anymore

Some how I was expecting that. While I am quite sure that there are some people within this company who are subject to the same desires and weaknesses as Pakistanis are, however I am pretty certain that they are a minute group.

Here in Pakistan, we take and dish out bribery continuously and constantly at every step, phase and level of life. It is our second nature, a religion. Can you even imagine to start to build a house in this country without first greasing some palms?

Besides companies like Siemens indulge in bribery in countries where bribery is rampant in the first place. That does not absolve them of the crime, however it puts their actions in proper perspective. It is quite ironic that we blame them for something that we practice so blatantly ourselves.

But then, this topic is not about Siemens is it and I find myself digressing.

that company had been internationally involved in corruption and bribery scandals here in pakistan too it was working in same environment so corruption and bribery was quite rampant

most of us do not show sense of ethical driving especially in evening when coming back to homes , and all of bus drivers lack this sense even in morning. why we get stubborn,take wrong turns and dontcare about traffic lights, i have seen zebra crossing in khi few places but who bothers to give way to pedestrians. Such things never happen in western countries because traffic Rules are being implemented with their true spirit. first of all government has to lift the traffic police out of morass . public behaves when governments set strict rules with passing time public educates and the next coming generation have full sense of road ethics. it has to start from top then comes to bottom.

Siemens is not pathetic, Siemens Pakistan maybe. Or if you prefer to hit the nail on the head, Pakistani people are pathetic. A company is only as good as the people who work in it. Need I say more?

as barristerakc mentioned when ever there is a jam or traffic stops moving then instantly the traffic coming from behind jumps over to ‘wrong side’ in order to reach at the front of choked traffic,they are not even ashamed of blocking and obstructing the oncoming traffic which aggravates the traffic mess

mostly signals are out of order(i dunno so many engineers graduate each year can’t they give our city a decent automated signal system we’re left at the mercy of that pathetic Siemens pakistan , technician will come from Siemens and will repair the signal is the response i get if i inquire from traffic wala about signals not functioning properly) and where ever signals are working then people are in no mood of stopping if the oncomming traffic is thin or negligible then people start honking you if you stop at red light and they want you to jump the signal

try to avoid SF altogether if you can and use alternate routes

well my personal observation is that the most of the traffice jams occur in Karachi due to people who drive or takes ‘wrong side’ of the road.

Since there cannt be anything done for roads and other tech issues, the only choice is to obey the order, to NOT to make things worse. 99.99% of the drivers dont follow signal in KARACHI , so the result is what you have now.

Point taken. However it works or should work the other way around. The traffic police are paid to make things easier and safer for people on the roads. This is their job.

If someone really wants to help, then simply obey traffic rules and do not break laws of the road and of decency.

While the above will not ease the pressure and congestion on the roads, however it will make life better and less frustrating for all around.
