Citibank had put a similar sign at its ATM center on Khayaban-e-Iqbal so that people do not enter the place thinking it was a branch.It is a standard practice in India and other countries as well as people are not used to seeing such huge ATM centers. For example Faysal Bank has one at Clifton centre, where they will give you info on all products etc, and also have a drop box for cheques, however, they will not give you acknowledgement of any payment they recieve. These are often known as sub branches because they are not authorized to function as a banking unit, but as a sales touch point or information centre. Such centers are not authorized to deal in cash.
