Tyre killers – Dire Measures

After a long long effort to control traffic flow within the Defence Stadium circle area, the DHA has, after complete lack of success, launched its final assault on vehicles that break the traffic flow pattern that has been set up to eliminate congestion in the area.

Tyre killers

Tyre killers

These tyre killers will puncture the tyres of cars that come from the wrong direction, while allowing the correct drivers to pass through.

I spoke with an engineer there, who told me that during the past week, DHA had received 4 complaints from angry drivers who lost their tyres to this device. Its interesting how people can call up and complain about something thats a consequence of violating the law!

i am pretty sure they will still break the law and the kill the tire killers … its a shame that things like these have to be put forward … it shows the "jahalat" of our people … first the signs then the rat tracks and now this … how low more can the people go …

bhai, "yeh koom danday say he manay gee" ; as we say "first law of the law: if you want to invent a wheel – you have to bend the rules!"

And prorably this is true in relation with the law-enforcement agencies in Pakistani context. I hate DHA but this is a good idea!

I was wondering what if we put these kind of tyre killers out seide presidential palace in Islamabad, so that no president can enter. With current choice of candidates, its better to have Pakistan without a President.

It seems that the 4th one from the right will even destroy the tyres of the vehicles coming from the right direction.
A sad but needed measure, nonetheless. It’s shameful that we need to be taught even these basic, little things.

Well, thats the a sign for those who cant read or understand the signs. The thing that I like about this is, it cant be removed easily for some A-Hole VIP even if the DHA A-lickers wants to, and that make every body follow the rule, in this case a very basic, common sense rule i.e. do not drive the wrong way!….. I love my country!…..chchhch

excellent initiative! they shud be put up on every road seriously. as a regular user of the stadium area, i like the initiatives being taken there and also on zamzama to make centralized parking lots and making the whole area more pedestrian friendly.

A few months ago, while shopping in zamzama, a shopkeeper was telling me how this initiatioe will be bad for business because he said "burka-clad women like to get off from their pajeros straight into the shop" at which point i told him that people like me "would love to put my young child in a stroller and walk along the streets in a comfortable manner". now if only we could find a roof covering for all of zamzama’s building to sheild from the scorching sun, it’d be a perfectly leisurely shopper’s paradise without cars blocking every street!

Gr8 job DHA. I believe these must be introduced on strategic locations & all of the U turns specially the newly builts on Signal Free Corridor 2 & on Univ. road.
100% Visible signs of wrong entry r placed there but even then ppl go in the wrong direction causing blockades. I hope this will really teach em a lesson

However, I do hope that this device doesn’t malfunction as "idealali" has mentioned otherwise its gonna be a disaster on the roads

seems like an EFFORT to control the unruly rowdy road users

SOON at ONE Dark Night some people will just hammer them to shape the otherway around so that RIGHT direction people suffer and raise hue & cry. THEN DHA will be SUED by the INFLUENTIALs to REMOVE the same.

Keep a watch on these Inspirex, and keep us posted.

Its a nice idea, usually people just ignore the signs and do whatever they want. Even if some DHA guard is standing they just rush their vehicle and try to go in wrong lanes, mostly i have seen the minister’s son who are disobeying the law. Now at least i think they won’t do stupid mistakes…before they go flat…way to go DHA!!
