No doubt china has a powerful economy and people are forseeing it to become super power in coming years, learning chinense is definitely benificial, infact learning new languages is fun on itself but wht we need to learn first is that how chinese people hav taken care of their identity, their language. Our language deserves same kind of attitude from us. When we'll learn this one thing, no matter how many language of the world we learn urdu will alwayz be something we'll be proud of cuz that is our identity.

The secret of china's economy is in its balance of payments, they pay out less US dollars against the fuel bill then what they recive on settlement of their export bill. This is one of the reason that they stand tall amid the financial turmoil which has engulfed west these days.

One more point to be noted, every sixth person in this world is a chinese, they got huge consumer markets all over the world - where ever they have chinese population.

Look at the post before this one .. In few years time Patients would be replaced by something in Chinese!!!!

The reason china is successful is not because of the language but because they adopted their language and are proud of it. WHEN ARE WE ADOPTING URDU?

I believe it is a good step. I have also seriously thought to send my kids to Chinese schools so that they could learn Chinese.

China is a huge market and can't be ignored. Just wait for 20 years.

While there is no harm of learning any additional language, we must strive hard that we have our national languages strengthened. The basic education should be at least in the national languages so that the kids don't feel panicked. Its so sad people speaking English at home just ensuring that their kids are having better English accent.

We never spoke in English despite studying in the best institutions. The same goes for my kids also.

If you see history, countries who have excelled, have all their education in their own language.

Lets pray that our national language is implemented in offices as required under the constitution.

Instead of Globalising you are moving BACKWARDS. One can learn different languages but not at the expense of local language. That is not globalization. Moreover I would rather prefer to travel and spend time with my Chinese friends and learn about their way of thinking without discarding my own. I had been to China thrice and found the young generation to be more “business oriented”. SHEESHAY – BACHISTAN-CHINA PHANGYOOO! ZAIXEN (thank you, Pakistan-China are friends- bye now)

@raheel, I agree with you on this one since the Chinese are more and more going towards English – I personally think language is not a barrier anymore.

Very good, I think along with Chinese, IBA should consider teaching Arabic too. Thats the closest market to Pakistani goods.

Last time Pakistani exports were soaring in form of Textiles they imposed quota system and our whole textile/garment industry turned into scrape house.
