Planting a tree should become mendatory. They should hold degrees of students who have not plantted and taken care of a tree for at least a year. This should become a part of our culture. Way to go CDGK and Crosby!

This news report exposes the complete extent of the damage done by MQM to North Nazimabad and North Karachi’s parks(it also mentions of 10 more parks encroached in North Karachi) and "in more than 40 parks in North Nazimabad Town, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s sector and unit offices have been constructed."

That block J park according to this article is called Taj Mahal Park .

This is what I don’t understand!
When there is so much land available around Karachi, why should one destory existing neighborhoods of Karachi?

I live in North Nazimabad & I have to often visit these blocks/ areas which doctor mentioned. & yes, playgrounds/ parks have been encroached upon. To name a few: J Part of J Block’s playground (I dont know its name) has been demarcated for 120 sq. yds. homes. Block C Ashraf Masjid’s ground also partially (THANKS) demarcated for 80 sq. yds. Not to mention the Saima Bridge View @ board office signal on KMTP land. For the record, none of these blocks have had any plot lesser than 200 (usually 233 ) sq. yards in the plan. + No amenity plot is to be used for commercial/ residential purpose. So this is all illegal. Now before u curse me for being anti MQM, I would like u to address the above issue & enlighten me if I m wrong on the above facts. If u cant then accept this as MQM’s misdeed. No use of name calling & diverting. & this is something which I have personally seen, not a word of mouth, so kindly drive by the above areas & see for urself. Thanks

Are you trying to say that all those parks and play grounds which are encroached by MQM on Shahra-e-NoorJehan are not government property and MQM was justified in demarcating plots and distributing it to MQM goons?

and I am aware of ‘buzm-e-humyun’ the resident society mostly comprising of poets from Block B and Dr Shah is a resident of Block F not Block B.

Do you think that the residents of Block ‘B’, will let these things happen without raising their voices

Do you seriously think that raising voice against MQM when it wants to encroach a large piece of land(park/play ground) would work? are you really that naive?

This is an old picture,currently construction process is nearing its completion on this park land encroached by MQM. They also have encroached surrounding parks on that road as well and construction in those parks too is in final stages .

@Dogtor, keeping your sick tradition alive, you again mentioned something baseless, without any proof or evidence and referred to an ultra biased website (http://mqmexposed.blogspot.com/2008/09/mqm-landmafia.html) which I am sure you are an important contributor to.

Nowhere in the website, its mentioned that the plot they are referring to, is in fact a government property (mentioning the project reference no.) You can not name a any open plot as government property unless its marked as one in the Municipality’s issued maps and appropriate reference nos. are allotted.

As far as Block B is concerned, let me remind you that – Karachi is most literate city in Pakistan, North Nazimabad is the most literate area of Karachi and Block ‘B’, specifically is famous for its scholastic residents, to name few, Dr. Jamil Jalbi (ex-vice chancellor KU), Dr. Aqeel (Medicine), Dr. Abbas (Medicine), Dr. Shah (A-O clinic) and various government officials. Do you think that the residents of Block ‘B’, will let these things happen without raising their voices. If you are from that area, then only you will understand what am talking about.

But as I said earlier you maintain your sick tradition of spreading lies and baseless allegation against MQM, you still haven’t responded to the lies in which you have quoted father of a deceased MQM office holder.

I remember having a discussion with Dr.Qaser from Botany Department of Karachi University who now heads Urdu University and he was of a view that the government should plant, “native species of plants” and he was prorably right.

The new Botanical Garden in Karachi University is a must see for everyone….

Well Block B, North Nazimabad once again reminds me of all those public parks and playground encroached and turned into housing scheme by MQM .
