Photography Exhibitions are thankfully increasing in Karachi with advent of digital cameras as good amount of people who have taken it as a serious hobby. In some way these photographs are documenting Karachi’s vibe, sights and people.
One such exhibition this week is being organized by Photo Club of Karachi at Alliance Francaise. The exhibition will feature above 200 photographs of 30 amateur artists selected by professionals. Hope this one brings us some aesthetic pleasure.

@Raheel sab….i have been playing with camera’s since birth…..but before this digital thing came….the photography was a very difficult one as a hobby….i always hated the developing and printing process…
now we can take hundreds of pictures and then save the ones we like….this is definitely improving the quality of pictures taken by amatures and hobbyists..like my self….but also we need to setup standards and guideline ….competions…otherwise…soon there will be billions of pictures that nobody would even want to glance at….
as far as attending this show is concerned….i don’t think its a good idea to risk being stuck in a traffic jam twice just to see a framed picture when you can see many online…..if you live in karachi i am sure you will understand what iam saying or trying to…anyways best of luck to all the exhibitors…and sponsors…

The real pleasure of seeing a photograph is on print. Secondly, it has been selected by professionals so hopefully no mess. Lastly, Alliance Francaise is behind ICAP Clifton.

I have taken some picture around 8-10 years ago, with my own old yashika camera of various location of old buildings in Karachi. I was very much fond of photography during those days. Even i develop a little lab in my home for that and develop some negative with my own effort. But actually it’s very much expensive for me on those days. Now it’s very easy to take photo in mobile phone but still photography have worth.
