Your above comments have thoroughly confused me. Will you kindly answer my following questions as part of my education:

1. What do the acronyms PTI and MB stand for ?

2. What is a ‘license store’? Are such license stores only in Sind and Karachi or also in Punjab and Islamabad ?

3. Is selling of liquor by ‘liscence stores’ to general public legal or illegal ?

4. Isn’t drinking a criminal offense in Pakistan punishable as per the penal code of Pakistan.

This is news for me. Will it then be correct to assume that people did drink during the golden era of Islam and were not punished for it?

7. I know liquor is not sold, purchased or drunk openly in Saudi Arabia. I also know that behind doors most Sauidis drink like a fish. Any idea if the sale, purchase and drinking of liquor a punishable offense there ?

In asking some of these question I may sound like a Pendu but that can’t be helped because that is what I am basically. I love my drop but have been relying on my boot legger for that. I can assure you of one thing that I have been drinking without any guilty conscience whatsoever. Some of the above questions that I have asked in regard to the legal status of drinking during the goleden era of Islam are for my education and not to ighten any burden on my conscience.

The Arabs always did and still love fine wine. It makes me sick the PTI zealots like MB convert every topic promote their agenda.

As for the laws I agree, sale and purchase of liquor is stricktly regulated even in the most liberal western societies, as it was the case when it was sold in the bars, café’s, clubs and cabre joints in saddar Karachi. However, the license stores have made it available to the general public.

Also i beg to differ from your statement that BB’s arrival had anything to do with it. IMO it all started with that enlightenment circus with our president officially (sarcastically) displaying how LIQUOR cane benefit in public jalsaz with a good display of emotionally charged lectures ETC.
