a bit late, as my system was unable to post it that i have typed.

@ karachiet

"i’m wondering are we disaster ready? guess we need ‘theek thaak’ on-ground working at individual & collective level"

have of my furustration was due to this part....as i am considered a survivalist in my circle...if you know what a survivalist is, that is.

but yes i agree....we all shud be to an extent, if not fully....fasee realised this long ago whe i usffered during the blowing up of mullah brigade on 12 rabiulawal some years ago....further added to it when benazir met her fate....

so lemme give you some tips...some are really pricy and not affordabel v]or managable, even for me, but some are really cost effective....and shud be done.

1) shud have 2 independet power supplies ( 1 generator 1 UPS or solar panels

fasee has two generators, 3 batteries and a couple of boxes of candles just in case.

2) have ample storage of multiple purpose fuel
fasee stores gasoline in 6 diffrent cansters ( 2 of 20 lts and 4 of 5 ltr ) along with 10 kg of coal just in case.

3) have a stock of necessqaary mediences

i usualy maintain 2 stacks...one if the reular house medical kit, the other is a untouchable resevre, with antibiotics, pain killers, panadol, paracetamol brufen, ointments , detol etc etc staashed away...they have a 3 -4 yrs expirey and are not that expensive for aonce in 4 year buy.

4) have protection devices handy.

fasee used to have a norinco 0.38 b ut mrs fasee pressured him to sale it, as she fearedi might shoot some mullah if they came again...she was right, if i had it, i must have today......so the day things normalises, i will be reapplying for two arms, one a handy hand gun for atrgeted firing....0.38 for men, 9mm carbon fibre for women......second that i will be buying is the repeater, which is just a terror weapon not good for closed quarters, but looks pretty good in hand or on the wall.

5) ample dry food

i usualy store dry milk, which we never drink and hate, but is stored for any eventuality, some canned food which you can rotae by using ands adding up slowly but keepoing a running inventory

6) ample stock of water supply.

fasee buys some extra bottels of nestle when i order, in additon to water filter which although not used, can be utilised...and oh forgot...the generator shud be atleast that strong to handle your water suction pump.....a good motor requries atleast a 5 kv generator.

7) mobility, shud have atleast one or btere two vehicles, diffrent brands and catagories, ( light -heavy, cheap-expensive car-bike etc )

one the main car and second shud be primed but less used....and keep the fuel tansk filled, alteat the one you dont use.

fasee uses one car phatphati, while keep the seonced one in garage will tanks full....secondlhy the fuel stored for generatoion can be switched to vehicles if and when required.

8) comunication

shud have a land line, mobile phones and internet access....better to have them charged, but if your power generation is secured by generators then there is no issue if they are charged or not, no worries.

shuld have diffrent sims of diffrent companies...although in pasitan once they ar4e jammed , they are all jammed..but anyways,

better have two phones one pricy second cheaper one.....fasee used a combo of black berry and sony erricson, which mrs fasee snatched on without gun point...so i will choose a nokia for easy availablity.

the backup mobile shud be a "no frils" and strong rugged, rough and tuff one to handle the shocks.

9) preventives.

storing such electornincs and fuel is dangerous so ample preventive devices are to be have.

like rupper matts and ear muffs and rubber slipes when handling power generators, a good capacity CO2 fire extinguisher near the equipment ( others might damge the electronics ) a good set of ropes for any thign that migfht come handy, some torch lights, i inadditon of the regualr house emergency lights have shock proof torches, which althogh pricy, are the best for such eventualities, and they have shockproof body and lens, plus a LED bulb which dont let you down any time sooner.

10) Trainings

get a traning on firer fighting, CPR, first aid, how to handle burns, electric shocks fractures etc etc

11)
whenever gogin out double check
all your batteris are primed,
your car tanks full,
your car has store of snaks and water
a balnket adn a pillow
a second set of clothes and slipers

@ guys
The following may not be relevent to this particular post. But I dont care. It is relvent to our present situation:

The following anectode might be worth reading in connection with the live burial of young girls in Naseerabad, Balochistan and subsequent defence of the action as a Baloch tribal custom by deputy chairman Pakistan Senate Mr. Zahri., the flogging of young girls, summary executions and other barbarisms based on our ‘tribal’ and ‘cultural’ heritage

A story for which Charles James Napier (British Commander-in-Chief in India ) is famous involves a delegation of Hindu Rajput locals approaching him and complaining about the prohibition of "Satti".This was the custom of burning widows alive on the funeral pyres of their husbands. The exact wording of his response varies somewhat in different reports, but the following version captures its essence:

"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."

@ Fasee
Sir, don't mind my saying so but our women folk generally tend to have a soft corner for these bearded devils mistking them as the gate keepers of heaven. This is the ideal opportunity to put Mrs Fasee on the trail of our uncle sufi who is a major cause of our woes.

@karachiet

My situation was worse due to my sickness, my lack of battery charge and the feeling of stupidity for being in such condition although being a partial survuvialist....if u know what a survivalist is...:)....fasee thinks most of us shud be to the level they can afford to incorporate the things required.

I had wrote a lenghty list, which I ususly do and some what am planing to do...but it seems I got baned agin so will paste it from my last page that I saved on

Maybe it might help u in futute eventualities
