I would say jahaliat, boredom and frustration are three major causes of drug abuse. By assigning these three reasons you cover the causes of drug abuse almost all over the world including west.

It was Carl Marx who said that. His words were to the effect : Religion is the opium of the masses.

However don’t get me wrong. I agree 100 % with this statement. So it is not a sixer as perceived by you.
